RCR123A should not discharge fast. They are probably better than Eneloops (I dunno). What brand battery are you using? Protected or not? What light? Does it drain the batt continuously while off?

For producing 230 lumen OTF consistently, you'll be needing 3 x AA and CREE's XP-G (what battery? Alk or NiMh? What light? Consumer or custom?) on a consumer light. The LED should be driven at least @ 950mA with good optics.

If LED lumens than a lt of lights can do it. =)

Btw, what light is that Strinq?

Oh it's this:

Aurora XP-E 2 x AA

It's got a superb beam pattern. Something like a Quark. Not as large the spill but biggish hotspot with a super smooth pattern.
Impressed me a lot.
Should be about 150-160 OTF lumens.

Good evening Guys,

I need to fund my other project and this beautiful light has to go  cry.gif . Thought of selling it here before I go to CPF. Countrymen comes first.

Up for sale is a Mag 1D cut professionally by wquiles of CPF, to fit the length of AW IMR26500 cell with a deep tail cap mod to make it even shorter. The mod is a Direct Drive single 100% mode P7. Installed to it are P7 DSWOJ bin, P7 D Mag heat sink, 15mm reflector & AR Borosilicate lens, all from Britelumens. I'll include one AW IMR26500 cell and the battery sleeve. Nice beam. Condition is mint. LED powered less than 5 minutes. Battery has been through 2 charges.

I'm asking $170 = RM570 shipped Poslaju within Malaysia. I'm losing selling at this price. My professional workmanship is free  biggrin.gif .

First I'll take it gets it. Not responsible for damages once it leaves my hand. Payment by Paypal(CC add 4%), Maybank2u or CIMBclicks is fine. I'll give it a week here before I go to CPF.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Hi lanusb! Yea RCR123 should not self discharge fast. It seems like your battery has reached its end of cycle life, not being able to hold charge anymore and you should use a new one. Or the light has some drastic parisitic drain. Yeah, what light is that btw and what batteries you using?

There's a 2 AA light with 230 OTF and it's the EagleTac P20A2 MKII (Start off as 230 OTF, and goes down to 219 after 30 secs and 214 after 3 mins):

EagleTac P20A2_____MKII_______XP-G R5_______2 Tenergy NiMH AA _________ 230.0__________1 sec

But note, Philightsophy selling them with LOP reflector, good decent flood light and some throw capabilities. Great for close to medium range.

PS: The P20C2 I have is still awesome!!

Btw guys, one of the iTP A3 I gave away has a strong vibration when it is switched on to Medium. It is lesser when on Low, but doesn't vibrate on High.

Any logical electronic theories and experiences? biggrin.gif

I notice it briefly when I borrowed the car keys from my bro's and used his light with it. I have no information yet if he had dropped the light repeatedly. The body is still good with a bit of anodize worn out. I haven't tested with other batteries yet. I did not check the voltage of the battery (a pocket DMM would be nice!). PWM frequency was "normal" to the eyes. Output seemed consistent when changing modes. LED still yellow healthy. Battery condition was fine (Tesco Everyday - blue), only a very small tear at the edge where the positive is (unlikely to be the issue here, but evidence of drop?). I only see him once a while, probably next trip will find out more, but not so soon.

huh... iTP A3 vibrate?
hmm.gif looks like iTP got hold of some "Alien" technology that we know nothing about, not only it can be use as "accidental" self-defense tool (iTP A3 EOS Exploded), now it can be used as a massaging tool?! shocking.gif

EDIT:
pseudoblue, can you do a postmortem on it?
did you try a different alky?

Looks like inductor whining has taken to a new level! shocking.gif Since it came from Dannie, it must have been from the aliens!

I'll do a postmortem and confirm this. For now, no location shall be disclose for the safety of this technology, so the aliens won't recover it! smile.gif

Maybe the vibrator... arr, flashlight driver circuit. If it uses a boost circuit, then chances are the choke (coil) that boosts the voltage has moving parts, so it produce hissing sound, sometimes silicon grease will do the trick to silent. But its vibrates??? hmmm hmm.gif Maybe Dannie passed you the wrong Gadget!

Just received some flashlights from opticshq, and I took out the turbo head to play with. It has a laser like beam that could not be any tighter or narrower without the use of an apherical lens. Narrower than the tiablo A9 and I think it throws further too.

Attached Image

I think it is not too bad if anyone wants to have a LED thrower which is legoable in a e/c/m series surefire bodies. rclxms.gif

They are on sale now but EMS to Malaysia is not cheap.
