yes..my gp cost me rm188. i do think a bit pricey but i like my coronet very much so nevermind la... the only thing that i think that really cost is all the bedding and the foods.

Added on January 3, 2010, 9:54 pmwhat to ask...between peruvian, shelties and coronet....which is the best gp breed? i like peruvian too but i cannot see any difference between peruvian, shelties and coronet. looks most the same. all long-haired.

my gp peeing and shitting everywhere including inside of his dome. maybe he's too scare. anyone can teach me how to toilet train my gp. What should i do?

Secondly, my gp won't come out if we are around and only come out when we are not around. sometimes when he came out to eat his hay i will slowing peep from far away from his cage. when my gp sees me he will quickly when back to his dome. Do you think my gp is still scare of people?

When i want to carry him out of the cage my gp will ran from me. i have to clam him before i can carry my gp. My gp also like to bites my hand. last week my gp bite my daughter toe until some bleeding. i bought a mineral stone for him to bite and chew but he doesn't like it and i feel his teeth is getting longer and strong. What is the best toys for my gp to chew. Any recommend.

my gp only 8 weeks old. bought my gp last friday.

1st, u can potty train them by gathering some of this poos to the place u wan him to do his business. This takes times and patience. Don't rush... keep doing the same thing... soon enough, he will understand.

2nd, yes he's still scare of the new environment. Give him some time and don't worry. Try don't make "big" movement in front of the cage.

3rd, all go will run from ppl if u wan to carry him  sweat.gif do it's normal haha. like SCC said b4, all animal with teeth will bite. But gp will not bite unless they feel unsecure or for some reason. Try take some fruits/vege and hand feed when he's trying to bite... usually if GP already get use to be with u, they won't bite.... same also, patience.

no i never feed any fruits to my gp before. only yesterday night i give my gp 2 slice carrots. What is why i am a bit worry cos i dun see my gp drinks. he only eats a lot of hays only. pallets also less. should i give my gp water by using bowls but it will be troublesome later. can i try to put his head near to the bottle to make him suck the water. but i'm afraid i will hurt my gp.

jus make sure water is sufficient , hay and pellet is sufficient. pay very close attention toward how much ur gp take in (water, pellet ,hay a day) and multiply it toward the day u going outstation.. but it is still best not to leave them all alone.. they become even lonely.. u has only 1 pig right? .. ask a friend or relative to care for it or u can even bring it along for the trip..if able..
*
i have no fren staying around my area. i got a big cage so its a bit difficult to bring the cage along. but if not other choices i have to leave my gp behind. but since its only 1 day and 1 nites i think it ok wor...

recycle bedding is the best actually, but yeah its costly, so i also stop using them..... cry.gif

may i know what type of cage u use? if you use the standard rabbit/cat cage like me, you can cover the mesh with rubber toilet floor mate (the one with brick pattern or zigzag etc, sold in square pieces that you can connect with each other) then the tray beneath the cage you can line with newspapers. so everyday you can just replace the newspapers, then once a week you van take out the floor mat to clean. very convenient.

if you dont know which floor mat i mentioned do tell me, maybe i can take a pic of it for you. all the best XD
*
oh. i know what type you are saying but too bad my cage is not a rabbit cage and does not have any steel below the bottom. mine is just flat plastics.

Anyway i can diy it my cage or any other solution.

u pour all the recycled paper bedding into ur cage is it? tat is jus too much.. no wonder it only last u 2 weeks.. try to buy fleece to made it as bedding.. then buy a toilet corner with mesh .. pour the recycled paper bedding into the toilet corner.. then u save alot.. although u now hav to clean ur fleece at least 2 times a week lor..but at least u r hitting two bird with 1 stone here.. safe money, and toilet train ur pig.. heheh win win... anyway wat kaoru suggest is also a way to solve ur problem...
*
i didin't cover very much recycle paper bedding just a thin layer until i cover the plastic bottom but still very fast finish. my gp like to pee and poo inside his dome. always like to hide inside the dome. outside the dome clean. This weekend i have to go pet shop to look for a toilet corner for my gp.

At first i thought like u. must be horses. but i dun think anyone got a pet horse so i check with the seller. They sell 2kg or 13.5kg bedding. If for a horse where got enough bedding for them. i check with them they said use for small animals that included GP.

nobody use this before? Seem cheap like 13.5kg for RM48.00

i dunno why these 2 weeks my gp doesn't eats the alfafa hay. I bought a 1kg hay but only eats 15% of it. Now what should i do to make my gp eats the hay. Is it the hay too dry. Can i sprinkle some water on the hay?
