Question for you guys: besides purchasing GPs from pet shops and breeders, do you know from whom or where can i adopt GPs (for free of course)?

if put those doggy wee wee pad as the cage base only put some bedding can de ma???

ur cage as in those with hole the right? i think can la.. as long as it can absorb the pee..

1st thing is, does ur cage have metal base like the normal cage we have? If have than i suggest u use floor mat. If u can put bedding on the pad for better absorbent. If ur cage is without a metal base, than you can put bedding on without floor mat. but need to change the bedding more often than using floor mat lar

Guys i would like to teach u a simple way to keep your GP feet not get sore foot, but at the same time their feces and pee can get thru. Do you guys know the basket cover people from the pasar malam use to keep vegetables? Put the cover inside the cage basket u can do something else with it XD coz the cover got a bit of height. Can prevent the pee to stick on to their fur. If the cover moves, you can cable tie it to the cage

erm... my cage ground floor is plastic straight woh... den 1st floor it metal base lo .. if put the mat on 1st floor the poo poo will drop to the ground floor??? ground floor put bedding ... den 1st floor put mat and bedding??

if the ground floor is plastic, than u just put bedding lor. coz if u put floor mat again, the poo will bertimbun there and they will step on the poo poo lor. first floor and 2nd floor can put mat. about the ground floor, have to ask others opinion too. Coz i never get a cage like urs b4 hehe.

Added on February 24, 2010, 11:53 pmToday one of my gp, the white Peru from Juztiny got sick. She's having weight loss and getting thinner and thinner and have wet chin. Expected that she's having diarrhea because her butt there got alot poo and pee stain. Din't notice the newspaper because my maid change it before i have the chance to see the poo. Just now force feed her using the oxbow critical care. Hope she's fine tmr. She looked very week just now, but after force feed her, she got abit energy back and can walk abit. before that, she's just sitting there without a movement

any beddings except woods shavings and cedar. U can read at front page there.

Oh..sorry to hear that..hope she could pull through and survive. Did you feed too much veg? Usually below 3 months old not to feed too much fresh veg.

need some advice here...
my guinea pig has wet chin and getting thinner. but able to eat pellets and active.
what can i do to reduce the wet chin? i checked the teeth in the front its not long.
i read may be due to the inner teeth. thanks..

No, i feed them very little vege. Sometimes only 2-3 times a week. Each time i give is half of carrot. sometimes i give cucumber. This morning i look at her and she still look very weak like last night. Sit there and din't move at all. And again, i force feed her again this morning. She can hardly eat the critical care..... i had a bad feeling about this . I notice the brindle peru also got abit wet chin, but he's still in a good shape. But he also don't eat his pallets and I was worried so i gave the brindle some critical care too before he gets serious like this white 1. Luckily he swallow all the care i gave him. He should be fine. But don't know about the white 1 really really hope she can make it.
