Shouldn't be able to. When you cancel your credit card, it means the account is closed. If you have direct debit tied to your insurance policy with your credit card and you have canceled the said credit card, the system will automatically reject the payment and you will receive a letter from your insurance company in a few weeks (assume if you did not provide them another credit card that is active).

don't be so confident with this, happen b4 that even though card is cancelled, transaction or auto debit still go through becos the a/c is still valid with visa/master
don't ask me why

i have experienced on this.. i charged my insurance on my mbb visa cc monthly.. one day, my wallet is stolen and i report to mbb to cancel the card, and make a new one.. a few weeks later, the insurance company sent me a mail to request for a payment because my cc a re no longer chargeable.. so i just provide them with my new cc, then only they can charge me again..

just now went to lowyat to buy some things.. after survey around, I decided to buy from ALLIT Hypermarket..when i proceed to payment counter, i check around the counter table, and realize their notice about additioncal charge for CC are gone.. then I ask the cashier, can I pay using CC without additional charge? she said yes, and I repeat the Q again to double confirm it.. she answered it with YES.. then I paid the item billed RM200++ with my AMEX CC with NO additional charge.. after this, I can happily shopping in Lowyat using CC with NO additional charge!!

is someone reported this thing to Bank, or because the recent announcement from Bank that no shop can charge additional fees to their customer??

RM200 additional charge 3% = RM6

They probably just dont charge u coz its just RM6 becoz if u pay cash they might probably give u discount RM10 smile.gif

Btw, i didnt know ALLIT accept Amex ?

I believe they dont charge any additional for CC now.. because last time they put quite big notice on every of their payment counter: 1% for ATM card, 2% for visa/mastercard & 3% for amex.. and they did accept amex from before.. from what i saw just now, they have 4 cc terminal there in each counter.. iianm, they have HSBC, EON bank and dont remember 2 other terminals.. because when they want to swipe my amex, they plug out phone line from eonbank terminal, and put it on hsbc terminal..
