Yeah. You can either visit any of their branch or just fax them a letter. And if you have any CIMB or DA credit card please cancel that first  laugh.gif

PS; To Mr Nazir, nothing personal against you or CIMB Group. It is all because of your genius brother and CIMB Group looks like an easy target, that's all  laugh.gif

oh shit, read another news on The Star paper, 1 minister saying if banks are to absord the RM50 charges, the prudent spending objectives by Najib is defeated.

WTF...
*
So many alternative way to do this lah. Bank can give you cash rebate RM50/year mah. How they argue on this leh. can they stop the bank to give rebate to customer? as long as you dont mention the purpose loh... I dont think they can do anything.

1. rebate rm50/year cash
2. rebate rm25 for 2 months/year.
3. rebate rm51/year
4. rebate rm10 for 5 months/year
5. extra rm50 cash rebate will be given to those card usage above 10k/year................

actually what he said is true...

so in the end, best solution is to cancel our cards. I can't cancel some coz got installment on them. I wonder if I can just apply to pay them full so that I can cancel the cards?
*
some got admin fees for early settlement

Hi guys, any advice would be appreciated.

I am Malaysian working in Singapore, but the credit card requirement for Foreigner is pretty high 45K per annual. So just wondering, if you guys could advice or let me know what card i am eligible for since i am working in Singapore?
The card would be mainly use for Oversea Travel =] so international transaction would be very frequently used..
Thanks for the advice  smile.gif

UOB or OCBC loh. recognize by singaporean mah.. all visa and master are accept internationally

Most bank able to lock your FD for same credit limit for your card.

Standard charted platinum visa is good also. unlimited access to KLIA lounge. 0.5 cash back + 3X point when spend international.

HLB isn't in my list of favorite banks as well and let's see how banks who normally fare low in the cc chain will react next to the massive card cancellation going on now in the industry.

Well we can expect banks to beef up the cc products and CS soon as they need to work harder to retain / obtain new customers now.
Cancelled 2 cards yesterday and received standard response ...
"Sir, can you please reconsider your decision to cancel the card ? We are still communicating with Bank Negara on the new guideline .... "

I said, "Whatever it is you are doing, nothing is firm yet. I would like to insist on my card termination". And the rest is history ....
*
HLB is the worst

why when u use CC at petrol station to pump petrol, they will deduct RM200 from your credit limit, regardless of how much spend at the petrol station(assuming u did not spend more than 200 at the pump station)
*
The petrol charge is different with normal charge. They need to reserve the amount make sure you have enuff credit to pay the bill after fill. Because the amount not confirm yet when you swipe the card. Normal transaction the amount is sure when they charge.

Same like some of the hotel. they will reserve some credit when you check in.

By doing this. They can make sure you cant run away.

Don't la do funny stuff, if all cc users do what you do then it'll undermind the entire market itself. FYI, I never had any problems with card cancellation via letter even though the bank ask for the physical card prior to termination. You can say that you have physical proof (with fax is possible) that you already sent the letter and if they ignore it then you can report to BNM if anything happens.

I'm happy to say that never I need to do more than just faxing the termination letter.

I noticed this charge in my ticket too and I thought it was the insurance. I'll report this charge to the bank once I completed my travel - better since AirAsia need to justify this charge to the bank. If I complain now then AirAsia cancel my ticket then I'm doomed! If they think they are smart then I'll report this to Mastercard / VISA International - see whether AirAsia can fight them.

You see ... to a certain extent AirAsia have no choice but to relay on business coming from credit card users. If you shut it down then to a certain extent AirAsia business will be affected as well. Hahaha .... ! Anyone wants to join me and complain to your respective banks ? I have a strong feeling that the final judgement will be on the users side.

Yeah~~.
