QUOTE(hye @ Oct 22 2009, 06:37 PM) 1. Call Citibank jz done...thx...2. Ask the CS politely whether the annual fee can be waived. 3. If you are nice then likely they will waive it for you. 4. No threathening tones or threats please. CC users are civilised folks. If you can't get the waiver then either pay the AF or consider cancelling the card. i din even start off much the CS already say will waive for me but i did sent a threatening "tone" message in Citibank website dy.... resend another to revert the angry message in the previous one btw...using Airasia citibank for a year dy...very unsure if really can get benefit from it.... any recommend if a good one can have... i intend to have 1 local bank and 1 foreign bank.... right now i hav maybank and hsbc+citibank...undeciding between keeping hsbc or citi now |

QUOTE(ellimist @ Oct 25 2009, 04:30 PM) Yes, applicable to all credit and charge cards, regardless of whether there is an annual fee imposed on the card or not i found inconsistency...where chinapress article on this issue...the terms they used....will lead to an understanding of... the RM50 service tax will only impose to Free-for-life card....not those with annual fee... inconsistent info now...better wait for more clarification. |

A B C cut down the number of CC, reduce spending... D & E cant spend much due to reduction in terminal...a lot place they cant spend.... end up total reduction in local spending... with the lower of FDI as well, gov don hav enof stimulation to boost eco.... collapse.... |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 26 2009, 09:21 PM) Why go cancel it ???? Just wait for the banks to absorb the RM50 service fee. dude....RM50 is a lot less than a customer's worth. both are different thing.... Annual fee is what charge by bank itself....part of the bank income.... due to competition....they can decide to waive on good customer...tats acceptable... this 1 is gov tax....which means payable to gov by the bank, or by user.... if tat can absorb....a lot entities out there can absorb their 5% gov tax dy.... |

QUOTE(hackqym @ Oct 27 2009, 10:32 AM) I think bank wont hear folks at this forum. Bcoz majority of CC holder here pay in full. Furthermore, bank loose so much to pay rebates/points/cash back etc bcoz they cannot gain interest from the folks here. All folks here will not enjoy all the gift from bank bcoz there are start to cancel their CC. Thats why they are angry with govt. And the RM50 tax is not targeted to people who pay in full and hold so may CC bcoz definitely they will cut their CC. But people that trapped with debts, ezy payment etc. will benefits to the govt since they are not able to cut their CC. although is ur 2 cents....Furthermore, i think this is past long term strategy between Bank Negara & Banks. If u revise the fact, the FFL Cards boom since last 2 years and people will start collecting the CC. In addition, Association of Bank start to introduce tier interest which is among the lowest in ASIA country. Hence, the possibility people to gain more debts is very high bcoz they hold to many CC. After bank got the statistics, then 2010 is a good time to impose CC tax since people in debt will hardly to cut their CC. At the end of the day govt+bank will share the profits. Bank gain interest, govt gain tax! Very good 'Pakatan Rakyat' of the bank and govt. Just my 2 cents! 1) if u set a policy, u go against it urself, where is ur credit left....how u get ppl trust u then.... realistically, yes, ppl who stuck and keep owing bank is the one who keeping the bank got more income on paper.... but theoretically, waive the fee for spender who cant even clear their debt and impose onto those who cleared and managed well already against the policy... that is stupidity 1 2) spending behavior of ppl is the cause that drive the bank for keep promoting the cards.... simple, if u can control urself from over spend, how can bank get u over debt, and gov charge u... do not blame others for making u into debt when u r the one who choose to spend |

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Oct 28 2009, 08:53 PM) not sure how true is this...but I heard a Maybank staff telling another guy that the RM50 service tax is supposed to be effective January 2010. But MBB won't charge yet until they've made a decision on how to offset this tax for their customers...maybe in Dec. may b...something like.....ur past 3 months expenditure exceed 1k, and u paid in full, then charge u, but giv u petrol voucher Rm50 to offset XD |
