Someone mention before, CC is not PBB main business, as the founder knows the profit from it is low. Also cut throat and a lot of defaulters. Hence, PBB concentrate more on other products. If you notice, PBB did not advertise or go all the way in its CC business, promotion, etc.

Let say we reported merchant A and he pays the fine. The next you know Merchant A will accept CASH only. smile.gif
*
Then it is fine. Good.

When customer is given an option of Cash / Credit, there should not be condition to impose additional charges when using CC.

When customer is NOT given an option, i.e. only Cash, there will be no argument to raise in the first place. It is the merchant and/or customer loss when merchant only accepts cash.

Again on my history. My "proper" salary is banked into HSBC for >1 year. Then I applied HSBC CC, but is rejected. doh.gif

Credit all good. All requirement pass. Perhaps home phone verification or something. hmm.gif

Then >6 months later, HSBC CC called to offer me the same CC with 5 years waiver. No need submit doc, just fax back the signed form only. Approved ! rclxub.gif Still same credit, same qualification.

hello friends

On 10/10/09 first time using my CIMB Islamic credit card. Already spend around RM1000. When is the best time to pay to avoid late payment. Check with card centre, my due date is 14th, not sure this month or 14/11. Do i need to pay any part of 1000 ringgit b4 14 oct. As i never get my statement before, it suppose to arrive every 25th each month. Please advice.
Thanks

If just discussing on this transaction alone:
10/10 - Swipe RM1000
25/10 - Billing date (statement send to you)
14/11 - Last day to pay minimum/full payment for the RM1000 (please pay a few days earlier to avoid last minute rush)

When I collected my Ikhwan cards today:
Officer: Eh, you don't have to cancel the other cards you know. You can keep them. Different cards different benefits.
Me: No point to keep too many, as the credit limit is combined. Besides, I have another reason..
Officer: And what is that sir?
Me: Najib.
Officer: Hahahaha. (Straightaway signed on the cancellation form, no more questions)
*
+1 laugh.gif I'll use the same reason when I go cancel the cards that I'm not going to use. Will keep only two cards Amex + Visa. Since I rarely go business travel nowadays, I don't need backup for Visa.

if i received a new card with a minor scracth on the surface, can i request a replacement or a new one? need to pay?
*
Yes, you must have a valid reason for them to replace the card for free.

I suggest don't bother. On your first virgin transaction swipe, there will be many scratches already.

Last weekend went to 1U. Redeemed Jusco vouchers on the spot. RM100= 16,700 TP

If through MBB/Fax, is RM100 = 21,000TP

Cleared all my points, as planning to cancel some MBB cards this week. .

how did you redeem so cheap?
*
That's the standard rate to apply on the spot. Since I don't want any other stuff, cash/voucher is the next best thing to spend for groceries shopping.

The RM 100 voucher comes in 5x RM 20 or 10x RM 10?
*
I got one stack all in RM20 from 1U MBB SC last weekend. I did not ask for other denominations though.

Jusco vouchers from Jusco itself comes in RM1(blue?), RM5(green), RM10 (red?), RM20(purple). Not sure if RM50/100 are available.

Prefer smaller denominations, as sometimes purchase RM25, can use 1x RM20 voucher and top-up cash RM5. No change from cashier for vouchers.

No, they won't care. They are just doing their job as per their management instruction to give you your CC and then your instruction to cut/cancel it.

Yesterday received a pre-approved StanChart Plat CC Visa doh.gif

Last year I tried apply but is rejected. Now they send me without applying rclxub.gif

Same with my previous HSBC experience. Apply = Reject. Later send me pre-approved. doh.gif

Anyway, it is a bit too late for StanChart. With the RM50 govt. tax looming, I don't think I'm going to active the card, although there is a RM150 cash back for first retail spending.

So far already cancelled 2x MBB and 1x HSBC. Pending DA fax in cancellation.
