I hope someone can enlighten me about this. I'm still unclear about this local and out station cheque. let say for example I want to pay my SCB CC using MBB cheque (put through SCB cheque deposit machine), how many working days it will take to make the payment clear? if due date is 1st Oct and send cheque on 27/9, can it clear by then? TQsss

my CIMB Petronas will be approved and will have separate limit with my CIMB Islamic Card. my question, is it possible for me to have both limit together by canceling one of the card.

Just to confirm for those who hold Amex Ikhwan. I read from the website the annual fee now is lifetime waiver and you will get 5 X treats points at all petrol stations. this is really good

They sent a postcard to me today to mention all this new features hopefully the lifetime waiver is true lifetime waiver no any catch inside it this is a new upgrades, before this they have changed the features of Visa Ikhwan to Visa Ikhwan Petronas.

not sure about the date of implementation. since it stated that from January 2010, I assume for those who already renewed the card this year (until december), the fees will start the following year (2010) the month when you suppose to renew the card. so I think it is not necessary to cancel your card now unless your card anniversary is January 2010
nothing can be done with this policy. for me the first step to do is to cancel unused and credit card with less benefit. not necessary to retain just 1, if the card that you would like to retain has bunch of advantages, why not retain it. however maybe it is better to retain those which is FFL

still unclear ..do we need to cancel the card before January 2010 to avoid this fees or until the month our credit card will be renewed each year. I assume the month stated on your card (e.g. member since XX/XX or expire on XX/XX).

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Oct 26 2009, 08:52 AM) Any 1 start the cancelling process already? expect huge volume of ppl cancelling and ended delay in process and hope the bank wont delay until 1st Jan 2010. I still not understand. do we need to cancel before 1st January 2010? if I'm not mistaken the fee will be imposed the month when we suppose to 'renew' the card (including the standard annual fees). so I think still safe to keep the card 2-3 months before that date

if we have two cards with share credit limit with a bank and in one of the card we have BT facility; is it possible to transfer that BT facility to another card.

QUOTE(David83 @ Nov 1 2009, 12:51 PM) You meant BT from one card (have already got outstanding BT) to another card from the same bank? What's the purpose of doing so? Because plan to cancel the card with BT facility.

QUOTE(David83 @ Nov 1 2009, 01:03 PM) If I'm not mistaken, you're not allowed to BT between cards from the same bank. oh ok. not sure whether you get me right. let say before this I have outstanding balance from UOB then I do BT to HLB. HLB issue two cards to me Visa and MC. The BT is linked to the Visa card. can I transfer the BT facility to the MC because I want to cancel Visa card. QUOTE(David83 @ Nov 1 2009, 01:19 PM) I understand what you meant for sure. I asked this before to MBB CS and they said not allowed. Maybe other bank practice may allow that. Why not give a call to the CS? Thank you bro. yes definitely will call bank to get the answer

I think is really depend on people. If we want to keep our card we could not avoid this service tax and the only thing we can do is to minimize the number of cards. maybe for some people better to cancel all cards and use debit card rather than paying RM 50 for even for 1 credit card. if debit card has more benefit why not. This will leave only 1 benefit to the CC which is the interest free period of 20 days .

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Nov 3 2009, 11:17 PM) Well debit card might be the way to go, but as some mentioned debit card has their own limitation too: - some debit card link to your bank account directly, means if lost or theft, all your savings are at risk. - in case of emergency, you are limited to amount of money available in your account - I not sure if we can pay insurance premium, or auto bill payment by debit card QUOTE(hebe87 @ Nov 3 2009, 11:29 PM) depending on your credit card spending, keep 1 credit card is better than using debit card despite the rm50 service tax. the benefit that you can gain from credit card outweight debit card, provided you spend a lot on credit card yup I agree. considering possibility of fraud which affect saving and other benefit of CC, it is better to keep at least 1-2. Has to put on our head that this fee could not be avoided and we need to keep the card

CIMB really want to kick me out. I have 2 cards with them and fill in the cancellation form for 1 card and they canceled both cards. I was surprised when I can't used one of the card last week. poor CS. so leave it both cancel
