QUOTE(bingozero @ Oct 9 2009, 06:55 PM) Ya, thats true, you can't have a both CIMB CC and DA CC in the same time, I don't know why CIMB make the rules like that. What a rule.. But you can having a CIMB petronas and also CIMB Islamic at the same time and separate credit limit. And the staff even advised me either to cancel my current CC and reapply for DA, or he can increase my CL for my current CC.. But there's the hassle and the risk of getting my DA CC appllcation rejected if I were to cancel my current CC, and I am back to square one.. |

QUOTE(winner @ Oct 12 2009, 04:43 PM) What's the point of cancelling CIMB cc? And what makes you feel DA is better than CIMB? Both CIMB and DA are under the same group and the benefits offered are almost similiar. Like wise, CIMB brand, for me personally, is stronger than DA now (as people normally won't associate DA with bank). Yeah that's why I am not cancelling my current card.. |

QUOTE(Centurion Lee @ Oct 13 2009, 12:10 PM) The differences between DA and CIMB credit cards is that DA is only open to Degree holders and Professionals. Where is, CIMB cards is open to any individuals. No doubt people won't associate DA with a bank, but by holding a DA cards, you are instantly recognised on your academic qualifications. A Professional and a Degree holder can hold both DA and CIMB, but a normal individual without strong academic qualification can only apply the CIMB cards and not DA cards. I'm holding both DA WORLD, CIMB Enrich WORLD MasterCard and DA Visa Infinite. I feel DA Cards are more stronger in indentifying you as a professional person. Just a while the staff from CIMB called and explained to me that my current CIMB credit card and DA credit card cant co-exist together due to the bank policy. Period. |

QUOTE(hye @ Oct 23 2009, 10:13 AM) OK .... perhaps it is a good time for some cc education. Speaking of which, my friend did encountered the same issue, where he bought a new PDA and the transaction did not show up in his monthly credit card statement, and one fine day the bank called up and asked whether he did use his credit card to purchase the PDA, which he could say no, but he said yes, and well, I think even if he denied any knowledge of his card being used, surely the merchant will have proof at their side, unless the merchant loses all his record.. What happens when you swipe your card at the terminal (whether it is for regular retails for EZ payments) is that 1. Merchant take your card and insert/swipe your card. 2. Bank authenticate that your card is good and machine print out the slip. 3. User sign on merchant copy and merchant returns to you the customer copy Not yet finish ... coz before the merchant can claim their monies ... 4. Merchant need to run batch processing and send the transactions info to the bank + the signed slip. 5. Bank receive the info from merchant and then only prepare to send cash to merchant and post the transaction to user's cc records. 6. Banks transfer the cash to merchants account after a certain period minus the fees. What happened is that likelt there was a hiccup @ process 4 so that's why the bank never posted the transaction to you in your statement. (It could have been the bank's fault but the probability is low coz it's mainly electronic) In the good old days where the transaction amount was written/captured manually, every now and then you are likely to encounter wrong amount being posted to your cc statement. A quick call to the bank along with your proof of the actual amount will correct this error quickly. You can cancel your card but the bank can still send you a letter and claim from you. so, whether you cancel your card or not ... it wouldn't impact much - pray that the merchant loses all record and you're home free. QUOTE(winner @ Nov 30 2009, 08:56 PM) HLB would require a letter from you for card cancellation. Called HLB a short while ago, the CS was extremely rude, she was like chatting to her colleagues while handling my call, and I can't even hear her clearly, got lots of hissing noises, and the best part is, I mentioned clearly all I wanna do is cancel my card, but she can go on asking me whether wanna do BT, wanna this and that etc etc etc, and while I am able to provide her all my details, she can't even just email the cancellation form to me, insisting me to provide her my email address, while I am quite fed up with the unclear noise in the background..Finally I see the first waiver case. Congratulations! Anyway found out the HLB email address - HLOnline@hlbb.hongleong.com.my.. |
