One big plus for retailers to be accepting CC - less cash @ stores. Less attractive for robbery.

It's actually against the Visa/MasterCard agreement to impose a minimum amount or charge extra 2% for credit card purchases. There are studies that found out shoppers spend 20% more when they're charging stuff on cards. Greed conquers all?

Usually when we apply for 1 card.. bank will give both Visa n Master. I have 2 dormant cards due to that reason dry.gif

Cutting DA card. Last time applied for 2% petrol rebate, free annual fee and 0% balance transfer. Now the balance transfer gone, petrol rebate + annual fee taken over by my Amex.

We can afford to pay RM50 on fewer cards. Can the banks afford mass-cancellation of cards wink.gif

I for example is keeping 3 active cards(Master/Visa/Amex) and canceling another 3 dormant cards.

if your 3 cards are dormant, what does the bank lose by you cancelling them?

There's always the 'emergency' excuse. I used one of the card once to swipe for a laptop so that I'll hv enough credit limit for other stuff.

Hey guys,

I've been receiving many calls to give away my card expiry number for "verification". They're from Prestige whatever club that prolly want to sell me membership to some useless privilege cards.

The number is 0162278843.

Any of u guys encountered this before? I had one credit card statement stolen from my office postbox before. They called my ex-office (can look for office number by Googling/directory service) before and prolly ex-office ended up giving away my mobile number.

If I want to lodge a report, where can I do it?

@MilesAndMore
I asked DiGi CS and I was told :

(12:05:48 pm) DiGi CS: I think the call actually is a genuine call.
(12:06:14 pm) DiGi CS: They company is actually the outsource of the bank to offer you any services.
(12:06:34 pm) DiGi CS: I am sorry, I unable to block the number from calling your line.
(12:07:50 pm) DiGi CS: The best way is, if they call again, you can advice them that you not interested with their offer and also request to not call you again.
(12:08:45 pm) DiGi CS: if they call event you already advice them to stop calling you, the best way is you make a police report.
