Erm sorry for confusions caused, I mean if we can transfer points from eg: MBB Petronas to Maybank Cherry Visa Debit? Since Visa Debit also gives 1 treatspoint for each RM3 spent...
*
trust me, can shift the points as long as its within the same bank. Can't say about other banks though...but MBB does.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 2 2009, 12:27 AM)
For instance, it doesn't offer any complimentary lounge access. There isn't any exclusive discount reserved just for their Infinite/World Mastercard cardholders either. That is not all, there also isn't any special privilege when you go overseas such as those offered by HSBC and Citibank.
*
I guess that's why their Infinite/World Mastercard is easy to get. Can even say, the harder it is to qualify for one, the better the rewards.

no bank has offered RM50 rebate/subsidy on the gov tax except for isolated cases like a Platinum card holder was waived of the GST and another cardholder was given RM50 voucher. What bank is giving subsidy? I haven't heard of any.

QUOTE(tgeoklin @ Dec 2 2009, 11:49 AM)
According to my source in UOB, the absorbtion of the RM50 servive tax is strictly at the discretion of their management and NOT an across the board policy. Amongst the criterias are past spending pattern, total card tenure, card types etc.  whistling.gif

And if its of any consequence, I have been with them for over 15+ years  tongue.gif
*
That is what we call isolated case. Its like you said, "not across the board policy". To be honest, I was already expecting banks to make this move since the announcement of GST. Banks can stand to lose a lot from the reduction of credit cards and what they're doing is simply trying to maintain their "revenue". Besides absorbtion/waiver/subsidy of the RM50 GST, I've heard of banks giving additional annual fee waiver, and cash vouchers. You can expect to hear more offers in the future as Bank Negara hasn't finalized anything on the GST till now.

Can I go to the Maybank center in midvalley / 1U to cancel my cards? I think meet them face to face will be more easy to communicate regarding the point transfer. As I know 1U Maybank centre help ppl apply for cards but dont know whether they also help people to cancel the card or not...

Want to focus all expenses in Treat Point so next year Treat Fair I have enough bullet for Auction biggrin.gif
*
Yes, you can go to their card centre to cancel your cards. Do let us know if they offered you any services to keep your MBB card at the centre.

It has been CONFIRMED that MBF is subsidising the RM50 service tax. It is being announced in MBF's website.

http://www.mbfcards.com/
*
Correct me if I'm wrong but this promotion (based on the advertisement) is only for "Power Balance Transfer". NOT application of new credit card or subsidy for current customers. Means if you do not apply for Power Balance Transfer, there is no RM50 subsidy.

Btw, did you see this on the T&C of Power Balance Transfer?
QUOTE
What happens if my monthly spending on my MBF card is less than the minimum spend requirement of RM300 in any month during the 12 month period?
In the event your monthly spending on your MBF card is less than RM300 in any month during the 12 month period, a service fee charge of RM20 will be levied to your MBF card account for that particular month.

i noticed in my MBB card statement that the treatpoints has been deducted.. I call their CS but since my card is being block they refuse to tell me the reason of the point deduction...

do u think that they can deduct my treatpoint bcoz of the 50% provision they allow for the unauthorised transaction..

right now, i'm thinking of making redemption of all the treatpoint b4 cancelling their card.. asked the CS and was told that at 1U can do redemption..should try to find time going there now lar..
*
how much points was deducted? As much as the unauthorized transaction? If its more...then its very weird.
Can you explain on the unauthorized transaction? What's the provision about?

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 2 2009, 04:09 PM)
Yes, I guess the RM50 service tax absorption is only for those opt for BT plan. They also impose stringent T&Cs in order to gain back from what they subsidise. What a cunning strategy!
*
Indeed. Its called marketing gimmic. It is everywhere...you need to be careful with other promotions as well. Always check the terms and conditions before you apply for anything. Do not fall for the pretty sales promoter laugh.gif I myself got tricked enough by promotions...

BC? Boycott? Aiya...try only la...since he has problem getting any card. Then I suggest he hold the card with good payment record for 1 year and apply for a better card. biggrin.gif For me, the best place is Maybank's TreatPoints fair...easiest to get a card during that time.

My first CC application was UOB VOX but it was rejected due to a study loan I hadn't pay. But I managed to get MBB card at their TreatsPoints fair a few years back and my credit record was good again. That time everyone kept saying MBB was one of the most difficult cards to get. If u cannot get UOB...can dream-on with MBB card.

why is HSBC not a Worldcard issuer? I also notice that HSBC has the worst range of credit cards around. I mean, all they have is Classic, Gold, VI, MC Premier.

Just potong my Citibank card. As usual, they tried to convince me otherwise but luckily the force is strong with me. smile.gif

Maybank - no chance at all - their hotline is constantly busy. Makes me appreciate the prompt and friendly service I get from HSBC.
