I have seen a lot of DA card holder cutting their cards. Guess they would need a lot of time to process yours. Have to act quick already. smile.gif

It won't be easy to win something from banks with huge cc customer based, such as Citibank and MBB.

I think Alliance's Gold CC CS is the worst I ever experienced.

Take this opportunity to cancel those CCs give you problems. Btw, in terms of cash rebate, Alliance Gold cc isn't as great as Alliance Plat and Yonique CCs.

Alternatively, you can write in, but HLB may take 2 weeks to process your request. biggrin.gif

I guess next week will be the last chance to do cc cancellation, as most banks need time to process the requests and normally lots of staff will be on leave during year-end holidays.

I think you can try call DA and ask them to block and close your CC account.

Hi all,

I'm planning to cancel my Alliance credit cards. Just wanna ask:

1. can I go to any Alliance branch (or their concept store at Sunway Pyramid) and they will cut up the cards for me?

2. will they give me a recepit confirming the cards have been cancelled? Or do I have to call them to confirm 1-2 weeks later?

*I don't owe Alliance any money - I haven't even used the cards tongue.gif

So.... Despite almost everyone here cutting their credit cards. I would just like to ask, if I were to get a credit card now, just one. Would getting a CIMB petronas gold be a good choice? Has anyone encountered any problems with CIMB?

Question :

1) If card got outstanding balance, Can we cancel the card?
2) Usually, how do you cancel the cards? Phone, fax or branch?

1. Yes, you can cancel. They will send you the final bill & you need to settle it later
2. Some banks accept through phone while some of them request a sign letter. Not necessary to go to branch. But you can do that as well.

what i believe is, if you settle the balance on the spot can make the cutting process faster and firmed by going to branch.

You should call the banks directly to get the exact numbers.

CIMB did it on purpose, in order to retain customers. A lot of forummers here have received such upgrade. biggrin.gif
