Dear Low Yatt Forum Members,

I've just bought myself a HTC Magic not long ago and I'm amazed by the android OS. But the problem is I've been searching in the internet, I see foreign users have this thing called android market in their HTC Magic but mine does not have it. I've also read some HTC Magic users quoted that without android market installed, HTC Magic users will be missing tons of cool applications for android OS.

I did some research on this xpda forums and they say that they rooted their HTC Magic and then install a custom rom and then will also have android market but I want to ask if I root and change my rom will the phone be locked for malaysia telcos provider and unlocked for T mobile and other foreign telco operators. Saw this in the video.

So I want to ask now is that can anyone suggest me a link to a rom for malaysian andriod os users with android market??

Thank you in advance to Low yatt members who posted my topic.

Regards,

Robin

Malaysia Telco which one so smart can lock your phone?

...so far none, except monopolize the market by selling iPhone and hike up the price of line rental...

Or unless your phone is a stolen one la.

Try, hofo in xda-developers.com. I guess most of the people here are on Cynogen.

One more thing guys,

My HTC Magic does not have android market to download linda file manager. Where can i get linda file manager with out android market? All I have is mobentoo in my htc magic to download applications.

I see the video, it shows if i want to root my htc magic need to have linda file manager. I've searched high and low for it in mobentoo and couldn't find it.

Thanks for the replies and help guys.

read up on XDA and watch the videos on unlockr. it helps a lot in getting to know what you can, cannot and should and should not do with your phone.

You can do a nandroid backup and return it to its stock rom (original state) before you hand it in to its service center.
