Ok, my secret fav team to win it. I followed the argies since 78. Ossie, ricardo, kempes, pasarella were my childhood pins. They have the greatest footballer (hand of god).

People may lament his credentials as a manager, but he sure can rile up his players 10x, even as we know the argies are passionate players. They might find Mexico tough to crack but once passing the mexicans, I'll sure they will get it right this time.

The only weakness is how much veron legs can orchestrate Argentina in crucial stages. Upfront no problems.

Added on June 27, 2010, 10:30 amBoth played really well. USA were galant & fought to chase Ghana, credit to Ghana who didn't play too negatively even when they were leading. (some little time wasting but not bucketful of loitering unlike some big teams when they were up.

USA were playing 'smarter' than England , in which I suspect england may be better off playing against the Germans.

Much have been rediculed about this world cup but from what i've seen, the level of football are really high. (the asians, oceania teams were bowling pins for the traditional veterans teams. Maybe the cautious group stages are gone & teams will come of their shells.

This is building to be a great WC. We only need 'one' magical player to stand out to bring his team to glory like in every WC. We always say football is a team game; but in WC, it always takes someone special to bring that magic that we so love WC. (ok the last WC was overall boring )

maradona is playing messi (in barca he's more upfront) they way he (maradona) played when he (M) caused much damage to world cup team (esp when he help win it for argentina)

messi is special, maradona knows it. they have massive talents in tevez, kun, higuain, milito, javier OMG! coming as if dream team. the only weakness is the short of cover midfield creativity for veron. when he is out their range may be limited.

Brazil plays ultra 'european' now unlike the free flow of the samba style. this world cup is about magic. i'ven't seen it so far from brazil. portugal is in better position to rise compared to brazil if only CR only realised his big stage potential.
