Next world cup 2014 England will play without their so called "golden generation" so this also may be the last chance for Rooney to win the world cup

I don't see any England young defender now that can be as good as Terry and Ferdinand. Upson, Lescott etc is good player but not world class like them. Also England has no promising center midfielder right now to replace Lampard and Gerrard ( Wilshere ? )

Correct me if I'm wrong

In defence im sure Micah Richards would come to age by then. And Terry is just 29 this year, if the overrated Cannavaro can do so little yet win World Player of the year, terry still can do it at 33

Center midfield would be James Milner and on the wings they will have Ashley Young and Walcott. Don't forget the experience of Barry, Carrick and Hargreaves, if he ever recovers that is.

Infact i think i shall give my prediction on England's squad in 2014

Hart

Johnson Terry Richards Baines

Walcott Milner Hargreaves Young

Rooney Defoe

With the exception of Hargreaves and Terry, all of them will reach peak age of 25-30 by 2014 =D

Pretty strong imo.

2010 will be Argentina's year... M&M will lead the Argie's to glory...

Iniesta alone can match Messi's performance.... add Fabregas Xavi Torres Villa Casillas to it .. really scary don't you think Spain is.... for the first time i can confidently pick half of a national team into World XI

Anyways, Suarez is a true hero last night. It's similar to a professional foul, FAR from cheating.

Added on July 3, 2010, 4:45 pmBesides, why do people think its such a big shock? sweat.gif Just because it is Brazil??

Why do people thing its such a shock that Brazil lost sweat.gif

Based on last season, man for man only Maicon and Cesar is clearly better than their counterpart in their position. You can't seriously say Alves and Kaka has been better than Sneijder and Robben, can you?

strange why tie breaker for best goal scorer are number of assist, why not shot on goal?
*
Nah, if shots on goal is a tiebreaker it will be wierd.

It's like saying a person who scores 5 goals in 9000 shots on goal is better then someone who scored 5 goals in 5 shots
