Just got back from PC Fair guys, but currently chilling with friends at Curve.
There is a fully equipped ALIENWARE Booth. Even with Cosplay people. Darth Maul, a Klingon, HellBoy and another lightsaber totting alien. Alienware brought in the full range excluding the aurora series. There were 2 DESKTOPs which is the AREA 51 and the AREA 51 ALX. There were also around 10 M17x there for people to play with but only 1 M15x. Check the price discussion thread on the great deal you can only get in this pc-fair. Also a small gaming league and a photography contest going on which earns you prizes.... It was a great display and I felt like a lil boy so excited there. I'll post the pics when I get home..... |

Okie... finally uploaded the pics. Here goes
First thing you'll encounter are the 4 cosplay models set out to convince you to get a unit ![]() ![]() Then it hits you. THE ALIENS HAVE LANDED IN MALAYSIA OFFICIALLY ![]() The first thing right in the front row.... ALIENWARE AREA-51 ALX ![]() And right behind it... the ALIENWARE ARE-51 ![]() These vents gives you the impression that the beast is breathing ![]() Then we go onto the notebooks. They brought in around 10 units of the ALIENWARE M17x for display and for customers to play around with ![]() But there was only 1 M15x there.... ![]() To round it up, the complete set of Alienware Accessories ![]() This post has been edited by julchin_09: Dec 5 2009, 04:58 AM |

QUOTE(maxwell @ Dec 5 2009, 09:39 AM) ah tq. Thanks for the correction bro. I went inside the tent, but it was quite dark in there and I guess I must have missed the m15x....the 4th picture is the guy i bought my rig. very friendly guy. his name is daniel. btw actually there r 2 m15x. 1 black 1 red. the black ones is inside the black tent. got another 2 m17x there u can play with. QUOTE(zad78 @ Dec 5 2009, 12:12 PM) You mean getting it seperately? I think it should be available when you call DELL SALES? I got mine together with the Notebook in a package.. Jutts out a bit at the bottom.QUOTE(Azurika @ Dec 5 2009, 12:37 PM) I couldn't agree more. Yesterday there were about 10 units sold as of 7pm most of them being the m15x.QUOTE(pllx @ Dec 5 2009, 02:00 PM) haha yeah, that's why...Razer's tailored for comfort, with the smooth rubber coating i don't think the AW has, but some ppl will reason that since i'm getting AW laptop, i might as well get AW peripherals. But for keyboard also i think that X6 is better, and wow, honestly, the headphones are at a really good price now, but i've heard complaints + i'm getting siberia I was thinking about the same thing of matching it all, but then I'd wish I had extra cash for a razer like a mamba... So i guess, it's a no to AW peripherals for me then. |

QUOTE(FindingScreemo @ Dec 5 2009, 05:06 PM) hey guys, i read in our thread, was it this or the price discussion thread? IIRC The salesperson was the one who told me that it was something like 3x2...Someone said the M15x got 3 ram slots. Is it true? I ran CPU-Z and it shows that there are only 2 slots. But then again I only know of 2 slots as well. The only thing I can think off is that its a 2gb + 4gb which should be the case and not the 2gb+2gb+2gb... |

QUOTE(zad78 @ Dec 5 2009, 08:48 PM) Nice razer bag... A shoulder version is it? I was wondering, id it comfortable to wear it across your chest? And do u heavy wearing it with the m15x inside? I'm considering to get thi bag as well since my free 17" targus couldn't fit my beast... I don't know why DELL gave you a Targus that didn't fit the M15x? Damn, they don't think ar? Ape lah!!!! They should make bags that fit these behemoths especially when they're selling them. Anyways, notebooks and deskstop replacements are getting bigger now. Yesterday I saw the ASUS W90 which was 18.4" wide screen. I wonder if they have the appropriate bag for it????? Oh and Screemo, NICE RAZER bag. Im still so new to this brand I feel I have been oblivious to all these... When I saw the THX RAZER MAKO, I thought it was another brand like Sonic Gear but with a nice oval circular design. QUOTE(FindingScreemo @ Dec 7 2009, 03:43 AM) I'm having the 9 cells. Fully charged, 1 hour 15mins. But don't trust the battery meter. It goes off faster than that. I'm using my WITHOUT the battery. And I noticed if you're running it on the battery alone, the performance will be throttled, quit badly. Sigh, a true desktop replacement. And I thought the GPU Issue and BIOS issue were the only bad news regarding the m15x... |

QUOTE(FindingScreemo @ Dec 7 2009, 03:48 AM) Erm, what I did was used the battery till the battery's life at about 40%, I plugged in power, and the whole machine lagged like there's no tomorrow. CPU usage was about 80%, with nothing, well, not that I know running. Can't even watch mkv movies. Have to restart. lol You ever encountered throttling due to insufficient power supply like what Amunriel posted?\http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=439546 |

QUOTE(amunriel @ Dec 7 2009, 09:28 AM) According to the spec given, m15x uses approximately 170~180 W but the give adapter is only 150W. Well I do hope so. However, I hope a new bios will help solving the problem QUOTE(FindingScreemo @ Dec 7 2009, 11:45 AM) Anyone else can confirm this? Or is everyone still waiting for our unit to arrive? Sigh.... QUOTE(amunriel @ Dec 7 2009, 11:51 AM) Well Dell has taken notice of this problem and trying to resolve it right now, m17x adapter is 250W or 200W? Well, we can exercise our rights and give DELL A call to complain. They SHOULD Rectify this if it persists!People at notebook review has tried a 210W adapter but it doesnt seem to solve the problem, therefore its highly likely that a well tweaked bios would solve the problem. Well worst come to worst, the labelled power requirements were wrong and a 250W adapter is needed XD. This problem has occured before for XPS studio 16, Dell has replaced the adapters and the problem was fixed. QUOTE(lilvamp @ Dec 7 2009, 11:54 AM) hohoho... thanks for all those who had supported us in the pc fair!! but the deals i gave u guys were really good, in fact i gave another forumer a bit more free caps, too bad he came late, if not he would have got the alienware t-shirt.... hehe once again, thanks all! Hope you had good experience working over at ALIENWARE p/s: btw that alienware booth is under direct DELL, so if you have any issues, feel free to call their toll line... =D QUOTE(amunriel @ Dec 7 2009, 12:04 PM) I wake up the last few days thinking its today, TODAY!
