lolx , they gonna redesign the interior of the m17x ? wonder will they implement the 5870 at the same time  tongue.gif
*
they will. but for us, finding that GPU is one hell of the job. still not discussing about its price, yet.

hopefully Dell Malaysia will change their policy and able to provide upgrading service.

QUOTE(Azurika @ Jan 15 2010, 12:02 AM)
true , im thinking our m17x can also fit in 5870 , they are using the same socket rite ?
*
all high end GPU will have MXM 3.0b. so i guess its the same nod.gif

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Jan 15 2010, 12:04 AM)
But, Asus would be lighter and abit thinner tongue.gif
*
and how good it their cooling system? possible to beat AW? brows.gif

QUOTE(leyley @ Jan 15 2010, 12:06 AM)

I'm with you Doc, about the AW cooling system and Asus has less failure.

Proof pls!

And I doubt that Asus have better cooling system than us! biggrin.gif
*
professionally speaking, AW cooling system is excellence indeed. my GPU never touched 80 under heavy stress, ever.

eventhough some company claimed that they are slightly better than us, we still have advantage in term of physical. smile.gif

and about system failure, it more about luck. cant elaborate more about that. sweat.gif

QUOTE(pelvin @ Jan 15 2010, 09:35 AM)
really? at a higher price compare to the package 1 or wat? for example, when i choose my pakage comes with 1 year warranty, to get 3 years i need to add rm400+.
so now i just need to top up the remaining 400+ or more?
*
as i recall, it slightly more expensive than usual. i also have one year warranty, and not sure to extend or not. unsure.gif

QUOTE(ldragon @ Jan 15 2010, 10:40 AM)
Alienware M17x i5 & i7 will be available in Malaysia in next 2 weeks. Any idea with the "throttling issue" are resolved?
*
personally i do not know why people so eager about i7. why bothering about expensive i7 with lower clock when you can get higher clock Quad with cheaper price?
and i am sure not more than ~20% gamer using i7 in the world. so why gaming developer bother to adapt their game's engine to utilize HT?
btw, intel by themself said i7 is not for gaming. it for hypermultitasking and workstation.

im not sure if these is the right place to ask this. But im definitely getting one aw this month. I just need to know how long does it take from the the day i order til ill get it from dell ? or does anyone here know where i can get a better price other then pc fair ? or any shops in kl that sell it ?
*
i brought directly from the website and the full duration is 10 days.
i think its maybe faster than that because i place my order on Saturday and Dell call me on Monday to conform my order sweat.gif

QUOTE(BrokenOne @ Jan 15 2010, 09:02 PM)
i see. thanks for the info.
i think my last choice would be to order from dell, i was trying to get it for a better price. maybe get it from someone whose is selling it or something.
does lowyat sell alienware ?
i know that pc fair offers a better price but is there any pc fair going on now ?
im leaving overseas in mid february so i have to make a choice soon.
i see a few people posting in the garage area. they are selling it for a better price but it requires deposit and im not really sure about that.
if there's a shop or someone that has stock in hand i would definitely get one!
any suggestions ?
*
i once became a seller for 2 unit of M17x, where the buyer save RM1,500 and RM 4,500 from me biggrin.gif
but its a few month ago.

you will not find any AW lappy in shop. never.
the only way to own this monster is via Online purchase.

since you will going to oversea a month from now, i think its better for you to place your order ASAP.
who know if there is a delay for you shipment or any trouble like that.

QUOTE(Azurika @ Jan 15 2010, 09:10 PM)
just get it from Dell , i dont think there are any shops around even promoting AW lappies ~
*
yep. thats the best way nod.gif

okay. that narrows down my choices to either getting it from dell or from the ppl that are selling it in the garage section. but im curious. why do they offer cheaper prices then from dell, when they are getting it from dell as well. they require deposit though. they get it through connections or is there something i dont know ?
*
may i know which thread that you interested?

yep, knowing someone inside will cut your cost a bit smile.gif

QUOTE(adix4 @ Jan 15 2010, 11:54 PM)

Hey,

I'm kinda annoyed by my BD-Rom.
Alot of DVDs get stuck in it, and its only able to play...2-3 minutes? and it just stuck. Couldn't remove the disc as there are no emergency eject button, the media buttons couldn't eject the disc as well. The only way to remove it is to restart the laptop.
DOCTERRRR~!!! any solutions? sad.gif
*
err i never face that before and hope for forever.

the part i bolded is the main problem for our type of DVD Player.

hm how about right click at the DVD Player in your My Computer and select Eject?

The problem is with the disc. Not contents. Already found out. This can happen to whatever disc be it the original ones or the jack sparrow ones.
*
the main problem now is unable to eject the disk right?

try to google about cmd command to eject our disk. its better since we dont have any pinhole as emergency eject solution.

God.. how old is that kid? 10? 12 maybe? and he'd seems like not really excited. plus with his specs (even for basic specs), why just match it with 20" monitor? sweat.gif

I know I won't for the next few years. I'll get the bigger notebook before I think of a desktop.... smile.gif

same goes to me. but instead of bigger laptop, i prefer maximizing my nebula red wub.gif

QUOTE(GreaseMonkey90 @ Jan 20 2010, 02:37 AM)
M17x just released its core i7 extreme edition
*
personally i am not interested.
the main point of getting i7 for gaming only if you be able to overclock it, like desktop, which is not recommended for the long term especially for laptop.

yea yea i know its not dangerous if tweaking it within the limit, but would you willing to sacrifice your warranty if something happend?

i still stick to QX9300 as the best smile.gif
