voting for D90

prosumer camera are those like lumix FZ38 or canon SX20 IS..sometimes called superzoom. mostly priced around 1.5-2k range. manual controls, good zoom...but cannot change lens (got conversion lens though) and just slightly smaller than a DSLR. quite suitable for learning la since u get all the manual controls, learn to play with aperture, shutter speeds etc...but since u have the money, better get a camera u still can use when u pro already

The a380 is a notch down from the a550 if I'm not mistaken, which makes the a550 'on par' with intermediate cameras like the Nikon D90 and the Canon EOS 50D.

By the way, wingster, what is so special about this 'dynamic angle shooting on PnS'? Just wondering. Never heard of before.

Type of photography u want to do : Mainly will be using for taking food picture only, or macro shots for fun. Rarely will take landscape or portrait, those will be done on my PNS

Any specific features u want? : 1) can take good close up picture, especially food, its even better if kitlense already can do a good job on macro of food, and no need get macro lense 
                                                 for now until i learn more
                                              2) able to take good food close up picture under low light, like in restaurant and such where there's very low natural light , and the lighting is dim
