Type of camera/lens/accesories : Prosumer or DSLR
Budget : Below RM2000
Your Location : PJ
Preferable brand : Any brand as long as it's good
Type of photography u want to do : Flowers, insects, sceneries
Any specific models in mind? : have no idea

Those big zoom range lenses sure will have less image quality compare with smaller range.
Your budget can get Canon's 55-250mm f/4-f/5.6 wat...+ change.

agree .

55-200 canon , plus 18-55 canon

cover scenary to zooming .

Type of camera/lens/accesories :  DSLR
Budget: $2500-$3500
Your Location:   Bangi, Kajang, KL
Preferable brand :  Canon / Nikon
Type of photography u want to do : Landscape, Macro, Nature, Crowded, Portrait,
Any specific models in mind? :  EOS 1000D, D3000 or any other else? D90 maybe?
Any specific features u want? :  wide angle, sharp

I am a newbie in this field. so I want to start out something with this. I will be using the camera for my own leisure time and for work purposes. as I involve much to outdoor projects (field, forest, nature, crowded area etc) my company asks me to get a DSLR camera so it will be my responsibility to ensure most of the projects' pictures are taken. so, to start off.. I'm thinking of getting either Canon or Nikon..

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Type of camera/lens/accesories : Compact vs DSLR camera
Budget : RM1500 - RM2000 +
Your Location : KL
Preferable brand : Canon (open to other brands for compact)
Type of photography u want to do : various
Any specific models in mind? : Canon EOS 450D / Canon S90 (or S95) / Lumix LX3 (or LX5)
So my main dilemma here.. is whether to go for a semi-pro compact, or a DSLR. Undoubtedly DSLR's produce photos with better quality. But i've heard people who regret after purchasing one, saying they wished they had a compact to use instead of lugging the dslr around. Should this be a concern? Or are there any other downsides to DSLR's that you guys would wanna add?

I'm aiming for the older entry-level DSLR's actually, to fit my budget. Pretty set on Canon for DSLR, heh ;p

If i were to go for a compact, any other suggestions other than S90 or LX3? Would love to hear your opinions. I've been reading reviews and all, but it'd be helpful to know anything extra

Thanks guys (:

Hi. Would like to seek advice from experts from this thread smile.gif

Before this, i've decided to get Nikon D3000 over Canon 1000D and Nikon D60. And that was before Nikon D3100 was released.
I know Nikon D3100 is good, better than Nikon D3000.

But I can't seem to want to get D3100 over D3000 cos of it's price difference. Am I making the wrong move here? Or is it like, I can play around with D3000 first, then upgrade to D3100 later on?
*
d3100 is cheap . get it . no point upgrading later on from d3000 to d3100 , end up you will incurred more cost .

high iso performance .
more mp
hd video .
live view .

with the budget of 3k .

D90 with 18-105kit . extra advantange on having build in AF motor . which can enable you to use older lens .
or canon 550d .

I found that, my friend and my cousin friend who use 550D, then say regret and should get D90, i not sure izzit the D90 photo quality is better than 550D or not. They just say D90 have more shortcut function and more function too, i feel photo quality good or not is depends on skill, then camera lo. What u think?
