an APSC format DSLR(entry and mid range level- not full frame) has cropped factor...thats mean if u bought a 18-200mm, u will get 18(*1.5)-200(*1.5)= 27-300mm...if canon will need to times 1.6...nikon andn sony times 1.5...compare to FZ35 u get 27-486mm...
therefore FZ35 has the same wide and more zoom compare to a 18-200mm lens...
i think FZ35 is more than enough for ur case...
