depends on your use lo. tx-7 and tx-9 almost the same ma.

for me i'd buy tx-5 due to its robustness though. drop on floor also won heart pain, but its a slightly old model la.

can try sg wang.

tony, which 18-200 do u mean? around hw much lol..coz my budget quite constricted
*
i meant the canon's 18-200. im not sure how much it'll cost u. but i think its goint to be roughly around rm1.5k~rm2k (correct me if im wrong guys)

QUOTE(night @ Nov 25 2010, 11:24 AM)
Tony. Lets say I purchase the Nikon D90/D7000 with 18-105mm lens. Is it advisable if I purchase another lens which is Tamron AF 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC for travelling purposes as I preferred to have one lens for that reason. Thanks for your advice bro.
*
ermm. if u ask my opinion, im thinking either one. i mean, u just buy the D90/D7k body, and buy the tamron 18-270. it might be cheaper than u buy the body+18-105 and 18-270. me myself, i bought my camera with the 18-55 kitlens, then i bought the 55-250 as well. but due to convenience, i traded both of it for the 18-200. carrying one lens is much easier while travelling. but the tamron 18-270 wont have an IQ as great as the nikon's 18-105. (but honestly, i think if ur going to buy allrounder lenses, its more about the convenience. because if u want high quality pics, better of yet to go with the primes). so i would say, get the tamron 18-270, and do some research on the nikon's 18-200 tongue.gif. btw, just to share my travel-light-rig, i bring my camera+50mm 1.8+18-200+a monopod just to stabilize things abit tongue.gif. or i just take the camera+18-200. its good enough smile.gif

yeah im talking about that one. hoho. its still a good choice bro since ur taking the 60D, the kitlens and a prime. furthermore, the 50mm 1.8 is my favourite choice of lens for the moment biggrin.gif. fast, delivers nice bokeh pics, bla bla... and usually, (i read this somewhere in this forum, i cant remember where) one start by learning with the kitlens first. learn all u can n soon u urself will know wut kind of lens u need based on wut kind of photography u do smile.gif

How much will one roungly cost? Am a little bit tight in terms of budget. And if I were to purchase this, wouldn't it be a problem if I were to take close up picture? Forgive my noobness and I'm slowly venturing into this field.

300mm can take very good close up already... new one around 2k+- 2nd hand 1.5k-1.6k

Type of camera/lens/accesories : Camera
Budget: below rm1500. any camera which is most value for money!
Your Location: Selangor/KL
Preferable brand : Canon/good brands lol
Type of photography u want to do : Normal usage. Will try to shoot any nice random picture! :D
Any specific models in mind? : S95/LX3/LX5(?)
Any specific features u want? :

Hello! I'm a student going overseas, wanna get a camera to document my studying life overseas. :DD I would love to learn more photography skills with the camera along the way too.

I've been reading the past few weeks and have narrowed down the list to S95 and LX3. I've found shops that sell them at the same price (rm1300+) but am in a dilemma as to which one to get! Can I get it cheaper elsewhere? I've heard that s95 has 3 years warranty and LX3 only 2 years (though i'm not sure if its international or not).

Or should I just go for an even cheaper camera?
Please do advise me! Sorry for the long post and thank you very much!

i think u should look up the lx5. that's the competitor to the s95. both are high end compacts. lx5 may have some tricks up its sleeve like zooming while video recording. and there's a hot shoe port as well. to be honest, this argument (lx5 vs s95) has been going on everywhere. some say the s95 is better, some the the lx5 is. but. they have a big diff when it comes to size. the s95 is slimmer and more pocket-able. while the lx5 is abit beefier with its larger lens, the upper hot shoe, and it comes with a lens cap.i dont own any of these cameras but i've hold em. both are high end compacts which can produce great images IMO. the lx5 is bigger and not pocket-able unless ur wearing cargo pants or u're putting it in a bag. but the lx5 has got some features the s95 dont. like the continuous AF in movie mode, a hot shoe, higher burst rate *2.5fps vs 1.9fps* (really, does this matter?biggrin.gif), longer battery life..but the s95, is slimmer, smaller, more compact camera. u can easily put it in ur pocket, turn it on, snap a pic. smile.gif so if u dont need all the stuffs that the lx5 can offer, and u want a smaller n more compact camera, go for the s95. but if u dont mind about size, i think the lx5 can deliver u well. its all about the matter of size really smile.gif
