example buying d90+lens kit is much cheaper than buying

d90 body then add another different lens is it?

then how about 2nd hand lens ?
*
2nd hand lenses are usually cheaper new ones but they may have some problems of their own.

Hi, TQ for reply. But NEX3 currently abit pricey. For low light shot is TX-5 Carl Zeiss f3.5 enough? Is the back illuminated CMOS really work or just gimmick?
*
it works but its of course not as good as the NEX 3.

one is a tiny sensor whereas one is a aps-c sensor. cannot fight la.

and ur definition of low light is how? if u put iso 100 and mount it on a tripod for few seconds, the quality of the picture is good as well.

i'm a total newbie to photography, so if any of below preferences contradict each other, please guide me ya..thank you.

Type of camera/lens/accesories :   DSLR with lens ( preferably wide angle)
Budget: 3.5K and below, inclusive body and lens
Your Location:  KL
Preferable brand :  Nikon
Type of photography u want to do :  landscape, night scene, portrait
Any specific models in mind? :  nope
Any specific features u want? :  i hope to capture sunrise/sunset, flowing fog and moving cloud, some night scenes like in i-city..manual focus, shutter speed control..

and i heard that a tripod cost around rm30 per piece isit? how bout UV filter? rm60?
*
nikon d5000? or d3000. bear in mind your budget can only afford you a kit lens. and a tripod cost can range from free till RM1000++. same case for the UV filter, can range from RM0-RM300/400++

QUOTE(BlueBaby @ Sep 7 2010, 10:28 AM)

Type of photography u want to do : everyday PnS,i travel often.
Any specific models in mind? : EOS500D,D5000,D3100(not released yet) and A55(not released yet)

*
all of your choices are not exactly PnS though the a55 is the smallest of the lot. why don't u consider a NEX-5?
and with ur budget, i think u can only afford the a55/d3100 IINM. laugh.gif

Hmmm... but not a Sony user thou lol My budget should be around 3k. I love DSLR thou this gonna be my 1st DSLR camera so it really took lots of time to decide n choose the one that I like. I'm looking for the compact body as I know sometimes I 'might' be too lazy to carry the whole bag of camera stuff so was asking if there's any camera with compact body but dslr specs.

or any suggestion out of that? as I want the camera with nice resolution esp for taking pets/lanscape picture? I know Canon 550D is great for a beginner but I just want to review some other model before I decided on which one I wanna buy smile.gif
*
the only camera with a compact body but DSLR specs i can think of is the Sony NEX. any camera can take pets and landscape picture under good lighting.

Is Sony DSLR full frame the cheapest in market as compare to canon and nikon full frame camera?
*
not really. if u compare the most expensive FF bodies of canon and nikon with sony then yes sony is cheaper.

but if u compare A850 with D700 and 5Dmark2 almost the same price range.

QUOTE(bob_afdlin @ Sep 9 2010, 12:43 AM)
so the best camera with interchangeable lense?? pls recommend me
*
what i meant was, there in no compact camera in the market which is capable of shooting a HD video.

the NEX series is still the closest 'compact' camera with HD movie recording functions.

latest one is tx-9. laugh.gif

erm..besides a good sensor, its water resistant(few metres deep), shock resistance(can throw up down left right tongue.gif ) and damn bloody thin. about the size of blackberry. can fit into ur pocket nice nice.

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Sep 9 2010, 06:18 PM)
Meh.

Another 200 bucks can get you an IXUS 300HS which a f/2.0 aperture.Good for night shots brows.gif
*
how's the sensor's low light performance? sony using their latest exmor sensor for the tx-5. a mini mini MINI version from the sony a550 & a55.
