I dont understand whats the deal with the FA questioning Wolves for changing their team. Doesn't every manager have the right and choice to field whatever team he thinks is best for the team itself?

I know there's a rule saying something like : Teams must field their strongest team for every game ; But isn't that very subjective?

It seems to me to be another case of not being able to focus on the more bigger and relevant issues and instead make noise about this trivial matter. Much like our government tongue.gif.

wow,we really got owned by Fulham. Fulham played like World champions man.
Intercepting 80% of our passes and crosses.
We looked lost out there, even worse than when we played Villa.

Well played to Fulham, they deserved to win by a mile.

Hopefully we can bounce back from this god-awful performance.

i got a feeling berbatov will be dropped for another senior striker

Totally unjustified. At least for this season so far. Rooney and Berba make an awesome partnership. Just need more ammo for them.

Berba has got his chances alright, and he's choking with the pressure.

I think at some point (which I'm guessing at the end of the season), we have to admit Berba isn't the player that was intended to be. I'm still hoping that he'll prove me wrong. People said that that is his style, etc but the fact is he doesn't gel with Rooney! Like I said before, Rooney is a Gascoigne-like material. Works hard, strong, fast but lacks that magic in front of the goal. He used to have them with his flicks and finishing but ultimately he's not a finisher. Our only finisher materials are Berba and Owen but I've already laid out my points before.

Our midfielders are not producing the balls because they're playing as centrebacks! Granted that they play in their usual positions, we'll be in a much better shape as shown from early season.

It never hurts to have another striker, an experienced one especially. And as a club like Manchester United, we need great quality strikers. Diouf, Macheda, Welbeck are still in the learning process. For pete's sake, they're only under-20, how much do we expect from them? In the mean time, we only have 3 experienced strikers and one of them is Owen? Not to say that he's no good but he's not exactly as sharp as before, only a 3rd striker material.

I don't exactly care who we get the next round. Either way, it'll be beneficial for our squad. But let's not disregard the fact that we do need the goals. The 2 games we lost vs Villa and Fulham, we scored zilch. Is that only defensive problem or offensive?

Anyway, Merry Christmas all!

Dude,Berba is not choking man. I have to admit,i thought he would've scored more often, but his passing and interplay is really top class. Of course the flicks and back-heels dont work all the time, but when they do,it's great to watch.

However,i do agree with your point that it never hurts to have extra players. Players like Welbeck,Macheada,Diouf and even Owen should know their roles. I feel Owen is somewhat overrated, mainly because he's English. He does have the RVN qualities of appearing at the right place at the right time, but beyond that,i don't see how Owen will be able to spearhead or at least be a big part of our attack force.

Regarding the 2 defeats,it was a whole system collapse if you ask me. We looked terrible going forward, and the few chances the opponents had, they took it.
If anything,we need to start commanding the midfield more. There's no use bombing far range passes when the recipient has nowhere to go or no one to pass to after getting the ball.
Previously,we could just rely on CRon to conjure up some crazy runs down the middle or the touchline, but this year, with Valencia,he only goes to the right, and when he does cut in,usually its too late to try any early crosses.

In conclusion,i think we need to get at least 1 CB to cover the injuries ( I know most of our players will be back in Jan,but still) and at least one attacking player, be it David Villa,Silva or even Kaka. We've got 80 million,we know that much. This is not the time to stinge, when we've already lost 5 games this season.
