yea i know 18200 is quite nice...buti already have 18105...don feel like spending 2.6k for juz the 105 to 200mm..any reason why u say 18200 is a better choice?

QUOTE(SkyBlue99 @ Dec 2 2009, 11:07 PM)
1750 but must be the VC version..

dont forget the crop factor of d90..

35mm = 52.5mm = normal lens only (said by kenrockwell)

wat do u wanna shoot?
*
yea i know the crop factor.. 1750 is damn sharp for me...but the build quality concerns me... hows the quality compared to 18105 kit lens?

bought the Tammy 1750 VC...and i love the sharpness + colour and contrast produced by this lens. So far only 1 thing im not happy about...the zoom grip is too tight.

AlphaBeta - nice lens ..and maybe the zoom grip will loosen a bit over time. at least that will prevent it from having zoom creep. wanna know about the focus speed bcause that VC lens have a built in motor right? i had to sell my previous tammy 1750 with build in motor because the motor is slowww...i've missed a lot of shots with that tammy in weddings.. the older tammy without motor is much much faster..and thats a fact..

*
hey alpha_company...long time no see. I miss all ur questions and thoughts tongue.gif ...Erm. The speed is quite fast...faster than 18105...im happy with this lens after all. But sometimes the lens wont focus...need to unscrew and screw it back. Maybe it is still new..i dono.. this happened to my 18105 when it was still new..lol

QUOTE(Klesk @ Jan 26 2010, 05:31 PM)
which af area mode do you guys usually use.
• Single point
• Dynamic area
• Auto-area
• 3D-tracking (11 points)

Auto area seems that the camera will focus the subjects if you place them under any of the 11 focus points. So does it allow you to focus more than one subject? What i heard is usually people tend to stick with single or dynamic area which would only focus on a particular subject and use the d-pad to tell the camera which focus point to be used
*
single point...then i recompose.

i tot AF-S would AF faster??
*
no..this aint true. Juz like ur kit lens 18105(if u have)..it is damn slow in focusing although it has SWM motor. Whereas when i use my 50mm f1.8 without motor...it still focuses faster than my 18105. This is because the d90 built-in motor focuses quite fast.. if you use d3s..no doubt it will be much faster than d90 because of better built-in motor.

personally i've the 18105 and the 50mm f1.8. the 18105 motor is more silent but i don't noticed it being slower though
*
yep..noisier sweat.gif ..but faster.

QUOTE(SkyBlue99 @ Jan 27 2010, 03:40 PM)
yeah.. but still if he can afford it and willing to buy it.. i'll still say go for it no?
*
see lo..if he is willing to sacrifice that bit of faster in focusing and also extra money...then go for the G version. If wan save money and a tad faster in focusing..then go for D. If me i go for D..then get 35 f2 like KTCY suggested.
