Like Sp00kY, I would say go for a flash and stick to the 18-55 VR. It is quite a good kit lens IMO.
*
agreed.. after getting a flash, u carik la a good tripod.. then baru u carik telephoto ie 55-200/70-300 after that, buy a nice drybox.. then a good lenspens + blower for cleaning purposes.. then bought battery grip.. then upgrade lense to f2.8.. then find faster tele.. like 70-200vr.. then, bought Ultra wide angle lense like 11-16 or 10-24.. then bought anything that u think worth it.. then belum sempat test semua equipment, u upgrade body to d300s or d3 ( like xandman).. heheh.. then sold everything, back to film.. hahah.. smile.gif)

looking back ur photo, nothing much can say la... for me, good ed.
for the 1st pict, the position of the camera itself like try n error shootout only... why not put on the table, stand it and take it niicely rather then put it on ur errrr bed?
2nd pict, i dnt know abstract world but sifu tidus ed spoken~! haha
3rd, ramai org marah aku pasal ni, eye contact mane bro?
*
no 1-- mmg atas katil, malas nak buat softbox/setting.. hehe
no 2-- not hantaran.. place for 'beras kunyit'.. utk adat merenjis...
no 3---err.. wajib sangat ke kalau potraiture kena eye contact? aku pun slalu kena marah pasal bende ni..kalau takde eye contact takleh??try something different..

thanks for the C&C...hehe

one more thing, just now baru je beli tammy 70-300 Di LD macro...2nd hand from LYN forumer for RM 380... is it a good price?? 1st bought on may 2008..no scratch whatsoever...hehe... any review on this lens? ade sesape pakai?

*
u asking me rite? the macro ok lor.. but not true macro.. it is 1:2 macro only.. ok la.. but keep hunting a lot in lowlight.. outdoor no problem.. motor sound terrible.. heheh manyak kuat.. pernah juga pakai G lense.. sharp at 200mm... tapi sian takde moto..cannot use on my previous D40... i sudah jual that G lense... duit tarak, then bought this tammy 70-300..hehe

many questions here regarding the next gear to get after having only kit lense... from my 2 cents opinion, what should u do before upgrade is maximise ur lense.. use it at all aperture, att all shutterspeed.. mostkit lense also can do bokeh with correct aperture and shutterspeed.. dulu i pakai 18-135mm only to create such bokeh.. rather than spending on new lense, get urself a good flash.. ( SB600/800/900 or 3rd party like nissin di622/866).. then bought urself a nice cheapo but great nikkor 50mm f 1.8d ( RM 390) or 35mm f 1.8 ( rm780).. good lense for walkabout and potrait.. then, sudah jemu dengan kitlense baru carik tele or f2.8 lense..

last nite i was celebrating bday with my fren, then suddenly amber chia came join us take photo. being the only dslr there i panickly set my mode to P and start shooting both the birthday girls photo. It's in a bar and I couldn't take any risk using M(normally i take my own sweet time use M) so i use P hopefully the camera will save my ass. ISO i boost to 1600 too.

The outcome -> sucks. can tipu makan lah.. but then we photog sure know it's just average and ... aihhh..

Before this i never thought of buying flash wan.... coz i hardly take human/portrait photos. But after this incident, I think i might wanna get a SB-900 liao. Which i guess i will use once in a bluemoon......
*
sb 600 also can do work.. if money not problem, sb900 ia a investment also

most of ur post, u will say dat "ok i really should go back to bed" its like become ur favorite quote already tongue.gif

from my opinion, ISO 3200 is the highest i can accept. above that, the noise like arghhhhh macam kamera henfon especially on highest ISO.

p/s : i tried D3S + 400MM at new branch nikon. setup ISO12800. superb low noise wooo thnkng to sell my car and buy bicycle tongue.gif

Alahai mesti comel tersangat sangat baby girl tu kan.
Bukannya tak boleh tidur. Ni tengah cuba nak telan makanan lunch ni tapi tak boleh sebab sejuk sangat sangat. Tapi lapar. Sini sekarang jam 1.25 pm New York. Tengah tunggu habis shooting. Rasa macam tahap beku dah ni. Sapa punye idea la shoot outdoor tetengah sejuk laknat ni.

Ok my friend here whose name is Donita but whose real name is Marc and who is right beside me now, says that he knows for a fact that the Tammy is better than the Siggy, which i tend to agree. The Siggy has that unsharpness at the edge and corners, which is alot more obvious than that of the Tammy's. But of course i dont have any photographic proof of that biggrin.gif
*
thanks.. tammy mcm best gak.. any proof of sigma?? i pakai sigma cuma 18-50 f2.8.. mmg agak soft.. damn sharp only at f4

itu u boleh tanya mafiaboys. kalau tak salah dia pakai
*
bro.... bila plak aku pakai 70-200 f2.8...?? aku ade 18-50 f2.8 sigma EX DC HSM je la... 70-200 tak beli lagi..mane de sen..

normally sigma agak soft at f2.8... most sharp at f4..( sweet spot)

from IQ some people say sigma 70-200 f2.8 better than tammy 70-200 f2.8.. of course cannot beat nikkor 70-200 f2.8 vr2 la..sigma has better built ( but focusing ring/rubber part always peel off), the HSM is fast.. meanwhile, tammy optically good, but always hunt in lowlight..

this is based my current gear la...i use tammy for my tele ( 70-300 DI LD Macro) and Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for my everyday job..

why not consider nikkor 80-200 ?( better IQ , around same price.)

Added on December 31, 2009, 9:23 amfaiz92 ada tammy 70-200 f2.8.. sila tanya die..

tele for wedding normal la, cos normally photographer take close up pic of the bride n groom
300mm maybe abit over la, but its quite common to c 70-200 in weddings?
unless take group photo then need wide lens la
but hired photographer hardly take group pics?
n ppl who wan have group pics always have compact cams with "super wide 28mm" with them  tongue.gif
*
wedding need much more than that... i main use 3 type lense..

a) 18-50 f 2.8 or 50mm f1.8 -- for general shot & potrait
b) tele 70-300 G/ Tamron 70-300 DI LD -- for tele.can use also for potrait.to create such bokeh at 200-300mm with f4.also to capture outdoor while they walking towards the pelamin ( berarak).. or for skodeng awek cun from far away..hehe
c) Wide angle - capture during group photo.. or at meja makan.. or taking from upview..wide angle also can create nice/creative effect semasa pengantin bersanding..

nope.. simpan kitlens.. and plus bought tammy 17-50 vc.. u will regret it if u sold it.. 18-105 is one the best all rounder lense besides 18-200 & 18-135 ( non vr).. i regret it when i sold my 18-135mm.. good for travel beb.. takkan u travel mau bawak 2-3 jenis lense.. isk isk
