QUOTE(brianccg @ Jun 13 2013, 11:41 PM) Any idea how much does it cost to paint the double storey house internal and external with skim coat? A contractor quote me rm 8500 using ici maxi lite and pentalite. workmanship i m not too sure about it. i suggest u not to use maxilite as your undercoat aka sealer. tell them u want a better sealer. pentalite is alright 1st grade quality paint. |

QUOTE(daryl.k @ Dec 11 2013, 10:17 PM) Can i check, is it necessary to remove existing exterior paint via high pressure spray before can paint new layer? it is not necessary to remove the existing paint. u will need this procedure if your current wall is powdery, fungus, bubble patches, etc etc. if your current wall is nice these procedure does not required. u can choose to do it. no harm actually but u have to bare the labor cost. always always always remember after using water spray removal use a good undercoat also known as sealer. reason is next time u dont have to go through these procedure again.I plan to repaint but i see many houses starts with water spray removal of existing paint and its very messy, i mean all the paint flakes flying around everywhere. at same time i also notice the water spray only able to remove like 10% of the existing paint.. So is it really necessary? |
