thanks for this really good and informative link on paint as I have no knowledge on paint prior to this.

I'm planning to paint my 20x 70 (4 rooms, 4 baths) house and wondering how much would the cost be. As I will not be renovating the house, and just doing plain painting, I'll have to source directly from a painter.

1 painter quoted me (interior only) RM2.5k for Maxilite paint (including grills). He said that all paints are the same bla bla.. saying that it's all marketing gimmick the odourless etc..
Another painter gave me an indicative RM3k-RM4k for ICI Pentalite (interior only)..
Another friend said that labour for Indonesian worker would be RM500-Rm600 for the whole interior house.


1) Wondering if Maxilite paint would cost up to RM2k for the interior painting alone without labour costs?

2) How much paint (interior) would it require for a 20x70? if the following paints are used and averagely, how long will these paint last before I need to repaint again?

a) ICI Pentalite
b) ICI Pearl glo
c) JOTUN Strax Matt
d) KCC Koreton Ezy Clean
e) Sissons Super Siscolux
f) Nippon Odourless

Would it be cheaper if I buy my own paint and supply to the painter? Can anyone recommend a paint supplier in Klang with reasonable/cheap pricing?

3) Also, what type of paint would be suitable (As I have an infant in the house and plan to move in asap after the painting is done) I'm not too keen on the maxilite though as I read in this link that it's powdery.. shouldn't be good if i ihave children/infant in the house right (who could just scrape the wall.. and ingest it)?

4) Does anyone have any good painter contact for Klang?

5) Is there any other considerations that I should take into account before I engage a painter?
