Hmmm...got 1 problem though, the surface is not the smooth surface one. It's very prickly. And the new tone will be slightly darker....still need the under coating?
*
Is it exterior or interior?

Prickly? Whats material is that built of?

Undercoat is to provide better adhesion for paint, we called it seller. ’Undercoat’ used by painter for wood as primer coat.

Do remember all surfacr must be free of dust and oil, if not your time n money spend on painting will be wasted.

ICI Dulux Pentalite - any feedback for interior wall?
*
It should be ok if you din stick any sticker or tape on it, because when u remove it, perhaps it will leave stain or peeled of the paint,

Did anyone ever do the wall painting at night? Is it advisable to do so? Any problem/ issue?
*
Not recommended because you might end up lots of shades due to unevenly painting.

is this a good price for dulux ici (gst inclusive)?

Dulux ICI Pentalite
18L RM254.40

Dulux ICI Weathershield
20L RM318.00

but i not sure the weathershield is which of the following (found out from website):

-Dulux Weathershield Acrylic Exterior Wall Finish
-Dulux Weathershield Max Acrylic Exterior Wall Finish
-Dulux Weathershield PowerFlexx
*
products differences rely on old or new walls, self washable or % of sheen.

All can use, prefer better bonding and good hiding character (means when you apply single coat it is almost covered previous colour)

Some paints are cheap but with poor hiding character end up you have to paint few more coats and cost more expensive with an expensive paint with good hiding.

which paint has good bonding and hiding character? my ID told me i dun need to undercoat the existing wall paint. So i think i better buy a good final finish wall paint. but dunno which brand
*
If the existing finishing is good, then you may skip the undercoat or sealer. Do making sure that the existing finishing not to thick in thickness. If so, when you apply new finishing paint it may cause peeling.

For iron or wood surface, best method is sand first n remove exiting paint unless previously was using water base paint.

Which brand would you think of? Or did your ID recommended any to u?

anyone got experience with a good white color paint for wood? Im using Nippon paint now and it gets yellowish is a years time. Not very good
*
I assumed that was gloss paint. Normally painter will mixed with turpentine or thinner to dilute d paint for easier to apply. That's the reason it will turn yellowish regardless brand. Is in under explosure or explosure to sunlight?

my contractor suggest use Nippon Easy wash for interior wall. is this good paint type to use?

what are other comparable brand?
*
Price for painting would be same for most interior paints from contractor unless you do it by yourself. There are only few ringgit difference per 5 liters tin. The price are Hugh different if you chose primer colors such as red, blue yellow orange.

For those wall patched up after hacking, should apply sealer b4 wallpaper or new paint?
*
Sealer is a must, and water base sealer are good enough. First must ensure the patched area left few weeks before paint. The best performance for paint is to provide dry wall or moisture content below 16 reading then only can last up to 10 years. If not you will find white chalk on the painted patch area.

No internal doors. No mix with anything. It's matt not glossy
*
If water base it means over diluted with water. Most white color from any branded brand are not real white, most towards yellowish, some towards blue, some towards pink. Those white are mostly under emulsion paint categories.

Normally I recommend slightly creamy unless you are really white lover.

Hi all Sifus, need your advice. My new house painted with Jotoplast Max by developer. Do i need to repaint again? Someone told me normally developer paint is very dusty.
I not sure Jotoplast Max is used for finishing or not.
*
All depends on your decision. Jotaplast M is a water base Paint which is a lot cheaper compare with acrylic Paint. If dusty mostly due to 2 reasons. Wall Moisture content high or painter mixed excess water with the Paint.

Same here. Would like to know as well.

Also asking the rest. Any specific recommended paint for white for painting? Would like to have my condo to be bright. smile.gif and of course a few single colour painted wall as well. smile.gif
*
Ici and Nippon they are about the same range. Let's worry not about the Paint for internally used. It is less problems compare to external use. If you preferred white, there are a wide range of white.

Thanks for the comment.
I have checked the Nippon website, they have so many types of paint for interior and exterior  cry.gif
Interior: VirusGuard, Odour~less AirCare, Vinilex EasyWash, ...
Exterior: Weatherbond Solareflect, Weatherbond Advance, Weatherbond Flex, ...

I think i will just choose the premium one will do? Since my contractor say i can choose any one.
Do you know which one is the premium for each Interior and Exterior category?
Does the type of paint also limit the color selection?
Thank you  notworthy.gif
*
All can consider premium. Colours and price not much difference. Only difference are the sheen and some property of each product. Previously had been discussed if your wall plastering works are good then you can choose more sheen product and Matt colours for poor wall plastering works. So this can make your walls less exposure of its poor workmanship. It is good to seek recommendation of contractors and sellers.

Exterior, I would recommend solarflect, but sealer are important as basecoat before applying finishing coats on exterior.

I only used odorless and easy wash. Easy wash have better hiding compare with odourless. It means I can save on quantity if you have tight budget.

Note: Avoid using grey colour.

Grey is not a stable colour for exterior.
