nvm, i got the jotun jotaplast 7L for rm37 each

Hi, i wanna repaint my old house. Was reading up on the threads..

it seems even old house (which has some layers of paint already), is better to use a 'primer' 1st..then only 2 coats of paint? Is that correct?

Can we straightaway paint 2 coats of paint? Coz the painter didnt advise me to do primer.

Also, sealer is more for OUTDOOR not indoor, correct?

my con quote me 3k for painting whole house internal + external + inclusive doors and grills


2k for skim coat all internal wall...

reasonable or not for this 2 item price???

For skim coat almost the standard across, for my 22 x 75 house, they charge 2.5K, but you could look for Indo which may end up paying 1K+ only (30-40 cents per feet)
Your 3K excluding paint, right?

Added on August 20, 2011, 7:10 pmHi adele, primer and sealer is both undercoat for wall, interior or exterior also can, normally primer means solvent based sealer, its for some old wall if it is already very powdery or peeling, after sealer 2 coats of paint is correct.

u can straight away paint 2 coats of paints if ur existing wall is still in good condition, normally if contractor already quote u a price which is not inclusive sealer, sure they tell u no need to put, anything juz drop by PJ, paramount garden to look for me... i'm Vincent, 0166146634

Hello,

I was quoted for painting
Wall 2200sf @ RM 1.50 = Rm 3300
Ceiling 1200 sf @ RM 1.00 = RM 1200

Can anyone advise if this is reasonable?
It's not stated if paint is included or otherwise.

Is there any special material to remove residue of double-sided tape completely from the wall?

Number of colour also will determine the price...

Depend what type of wall. If the wall is gloss, you can use WD40

bro both jotun and nippon same price? haih didnt know so exp rm37 each for the jotaplast max. wasted rm28 as i took 4 units. hw much is jotun strax, majestic optima/pearl silk? btw comparing to nippon which is better?

Im thinking of getting Jotun Majestic Paint and looking for a painter. Can any one recommend me a good painter that is not to expensive ?

I'm been advice by a ICI consultant better not use "Maxilite" for the base coat, is it will impact the quality of the paint and may not able to suitained 5 years as descripted on the warrenty but suggest me to use "Wall Sealer or Primer" as a base coat...
anyone expirence this?
