wmkr: The frame looks faded becoz of cheapo digicam and poor lighting.  tongue.gif This make me think to get back into DSLR.  smile.gif

leong: The development of my red at this stage is really slow. Really2 slow. Regarding the tanning light, some said any high intensity light (with high K value) can be used for tanning. There are also special tanning light produced specially for reds.

elmer: Cert stated High Quality Super Red. So, just consider it as Super Red. Blood or Chili Red doesn't matter. This piece is already 3 years with me.  biggrin.gif

leggedy/fishboy: What is the current price for XB at XL ? Never been there for a long time edi.
*
bro... what i use last time i just any lighting for plant is sufficient enough for tanning red no need to buy those highend tube which is the same quality for a lower price.... icon_idea.gif

hmnn saif bear and wmkr bro's

which kinda lights are you referring to for the tanning which is also for plants?

cuz i've looked around a lot seriously i cant find any arowana tanning lights...all the lfs say that the normal t8 t9 red lights will do :S
*
just go to any lfs and ask for the ordinary lighting for plant...they should have.... or if u want to pay lesser than just buy the phillip tube for house with green tip but make sure it's daylight brows.gif

Here are tip's for red lover or owner...

1 buy any Super/Chilli/Blood red...
2. Pump the aro 1st till size about 8-12 inch...(feed them only 80% full)
3. Tanning start's when size around 8-10 inch coz in that time u can see some red developement on the cheak of the red aro...
4 once start tanning put a lot of Ketapang Leave's in ur tank/sump this will help the redness/dark orange developement for them...
5 best is natural light tanning but if not u can use any tube for aquarium plant or the best daylight u can get your hand on (depend how deep is ur pocket)

Thank's for reading drool.gif

Since Spain won this morning i would like to share my adopted goldie from a friend about nearly 2 month ago....

Size is about 10-11 inch
Gene suppose to be a MG

I adopt this piece as last time in my friend custody it had grill curl, breathing heavy and poor appetite... after almost 2 month with me the problem all gone now..... so now it's swimming and eat well....
