yup... i had sent the screenshot to them and hoping them to fix it soon.. i'm sure we are not the only one encountering this problem... Facebook app also have this issue during messaging. 
so far i yet to received any response from whatsapp support
you can switch between landscape and potrait and it will show the send button and writting bar so far i yet to received any response from whatsapp support
