For healthy burgers, make your own (there are many good recipes, including a nice one from Jamie Oliver), but usually its more convenient to just buy one. I admit to buying some nice road side burgers (past favourites: Ramly at Kg Baru near the mosque, Ramly at Bandar Tun Razak near BHP petrol station; current favourite: Otai at Desa Sri Hartamas), once in a while. Tastes good after all (probably the MSG, ).
I also do know some roadside burger stall use the cheap '10%' product. The 10% signifies only 10% of the patties is the real meat content!
The rest are mostly flour with additives, fillers, color and flavoring. Did you notice how red some burgers are! And this is even after cooking!
If you cooked real red meat, it will turn brown but not this special burgers. So guys do watch out.
For those who don't want to mess around mixing the lean meat and fat meat. And if you like McD's Quarters which is 100% beef, loves to cook and like to eat it fresh at home, you can buy the patties at major hypermarket. It is label under 'First Pride' in the frozen section. Same label for their chicken and fish nugget.
The patties is very easy to cook. Use a flat non-stick pan. Once hot use only few drops of oil to grease the pan before frying the patty. Only 3 minutes for each side. It is like playing 'Cooking Mama'
Once the patties are cooked, the bun toasted, how you want to set up your burger are up to you imagination!
Enjoy!
