Or should I just file a complaint?
Also, can I ask them to increase my cap to 4.5 or 5, so that I can enjoy at least 4 MBPS speed? If so, HOW?
Thanks in advance!

I just upgraded to 4MBPS and got my line installed last week. But, until now the line is still capped at 1.7MBPS. What number should I call to reach "Level 2 Technical Support" as mentioned by many forummers?

I think cannot lah, cause 4MB is meant to have 3.5mbps speed only.. Me: Ya kah? But I see online many people can ask their technician to do it.. some just file a complaint and cap is increased to 5mbps with ~4MB speed Him: Oh... like this ah?? Okok, let me try my best. I SMS / Call you back later ok? Me: Thanks Him: K, bye. |

Or both of you also have similar SNR / Attenuation value? Mind sharing? Thanks.. Regards |

QUOTE(jalan2 @ Apr 11 2010, 11:10 AM) hi polarzbearz. Your problem all this while is NOT with TM, but with your technician who give you bullshit about waiting 1 week, try his best, etc etc which is purely excuses becos he actually dont wanna help you! Nice technician you have there.. wondered if I can ask him to do it for me....A good technician just have to phone-call TM, ask them to re-cap to 5120 (which TM can do in 10 seconds), the you re-boot ur modem & you got your new speed of 4+ mbs! I know TM can do lot of stupid things, but its not fair to blame TM/ report to MCMC just becos your lousy technician nicely blame them for his own laziness & tidak-apa attitude. Follow the suggestions from the other people in this forum who got re-capped to 5120 by TM: 1) call TM yourself to ask for re-cap 2) tell your technician to stop conning his customers.... people will sure find out! The speed below is what i got after my technician call TM, & this is what i got after 30 seconds of that call: ![]() It took whole 1 week just to decap from 2mb ADSL cap (used for 1mb package) to 4mb ADSL cap, then asked him to rise cap, he said cannot 1 wor, then said try his best after i mentioned there are cases like this... |

QUOTE(jalan2 @ Apr 11 2010, 10:08 PM) i understand this "technician calling TM for re-capping" is not unusual after reading all the other posts here..... in fact, that's what encouraged me to ask my technician in the first place; or else I probably don't know about this re-capping & stay with the original 4.0mb (=3.51mb speed test). Okay, will try to contact my contractor again and ask him politely tomorrow.. if he don't wanna help, I'll try to get other contractor's number and call them to request.. hopefully can lah..What I suggest is that you make a general request to other members of this forum, especially IN YOUR AREA, to ask for the contact # of their technician who will help you get the cap to 5120 asap. Since this is not the original technician who handle your case (who already made his commission & now don't bother to help you anymore!), maybe you can belanja dia duit lunch at McD or KFC lah...... after all, there's quite a difference between speed of 3.5mbs & 4.5mbs.......... still paying the same RM140/month what..... Good luck, my friend! ![]() Yea, I do agree there's difference in 3.5 and 4.5..., paying the same amount, why don't aim for higher speed.. Only the difference mine is RM88/mnth for it, Stimix Unipack.. lol =P Thanks for your input =) |

Called my technician again to request higher cap, he rejected my request and saying "it's impossible for 4MBPS user to have 5mbps cap. 5mbps cap is for HSBB (Unifi) package and must have FIBRE OPTICS line instead of COPPER line...
Calling 100 now and they are filing a report for me. |

Once again I called him, he told me "4mb user cannot 5mb cap laaa sir" I asked him to refer to the report and do it for me. ZZZZ... this contractor is pissing me off... =.=" |

QUOTE(SeaMonster @ Apr 12 2010, 08:14 PM) Then What The Technician Said? After You Ask Him For Refer Report. You know what he said? And Seriously, The Problem Is On Your Technician Since Alot 4Mb User Line Crap At 5Mb Or 6Mb *After got brain-squeezing of advertisements from 100, the CS filed a report, ask me to contact the technician to ask him to refer to the report, and recap for me* I called technician. Me: Hello sir, it's me again, _____ Him: Ok.. I know, you again. Why? Me: I filed a report to TM via CS call thru 100. About the 4MB Cap, 3.1MB speed thing. Him: Huh? I thought I told you 4MB user only can cap at 4MB? How can cap at 5MB? You not 5MB user. Me: Ok sir, I already called the CS (100), and they told me YES, ITS POSSIBLE. MANY PEOPLE does that. The CS updated a report for you to refer, please refer to it and re-cap for me. Him: Is it? But 4MB user only 4MB cap.. blah... Me: Just refer to the report. Him: Ok loh like that, I call you back later. *Which I'm sure he wont' call me. He never call me back many times already, after saying "I will call you back"...* =.=? |

QUOTE(mitodna @ Apr 12 2010, 08:24 PM) My experience so far, and come to some facts within TM now: I do agree with you. She wanted to help me, but I'm under warranty (<14 days). So I'm forced to be redirected to the stupid Technician again..1. TM has '4meg Customer Support' 2. New Streamyx installation 'under warranty' by the Installer/Technician for 14 days. Installer/Technician is the one that go to your house and do setting. I also facing 'not reaching' 4mbps, in turn hoping TM to crap my port to 5mbps, they hesitate to take up my case, since on point 2. And asking me to refers back to the Installer to move my port to IP DSLAM, he said I am on 'old' DSLAM. IP DSLAM is new. I called Installer and installer asked me to ask TM to call him, in fact, it was TM ask me to call installer. This is getting complicated. By the way, right now I speedtest to HongKong, it was like 1mbps, yesterday was better around 2-3mbps. I believe that if you are 'old' customer (> 14 days), you can ask for '4meg customer support' thru 100. Added on April 12, 2010, 8:30 pm QUOTE(SeaMonster @ Apr 12 2010, 08:28 PM) When The Time Installer Came My House To INstall 4Mb. That technician is giving so many excuses...It Was Craped By 4Mb And SpeedTest 3.4+/- Mb Then I Ask Him For Higher Crap. He Ask Me To Wait For 2Weeks, Then Call 100 To Request. 3Weeks Later, I Called And Request. The Incharge Ask Me Why Complain So Late. I Told Him " I Was Told By Technician Wait For 2Weeks Only Request " Then He File To Report To Me And Next Day 5Mb KaoTim This post has been edited by polarzbearz: Apr 12 2010, 08:30 PM |

Guys, refer to my case above. What should I do? Should I call him again now, ask him just re-cap to 5MB and no more hassles for him; or wait 14 days complain to TM?

QUOTE(mitodna @ Apr 12 2010, 08:52 PM) how many days now? he said he will call back right? if you still persists, then you might want to give 100 another try, ask to speak to '4meg Customer Support', usually, he/she will gather your detail, if they want to hook you up, then good, if not, they will get them to call you back next working day. Just a few minutes after report. I already wait until cannot tahan. Last week he told me "Ok sir, I will try my best"I now waiting TM to call me back. Monday (just now, morning) tell me "sorry sir, impossible 4mb user can get 5mb cap la, no such case. unless u are unifi user" |

Shit... how am I going to refer to the case again next time... =o=..My installation was on two fridays ago - 2nd April. Took 1 week to decap from 1MB to 4MB. QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Apr 13 2010, 01:41 AM) Your technician misunderstood you. He thinks you want a 4Mbps with a 5Mbps account cap. Who knows, it might be this case or not. I don't know. Will call and ask him carefully and specifically and detailed and clearly; let's see what he will answer. Or he did really misunderstood me? I don't know. I clearly stated "I want 5MB ADSL Cap"; not "I want 5MB Account Cap".I get this a lot when I talk to 1st level at '100', most of them know nuts, while trying to get my 2Mbps to be capped at 3Mbps, and I do not get to talk to 2nd level. Try ask him to specifically call IPNOC regarding the cap thing so that your line can reach 4Mbps, or perhaps tell him that your 4Mbps cap cannot "go all the way" Otherwise, you can just wait for the 14 days to pass and then you make a report with the Advance Troubleshotting Team a.k.a 2nd level support. It seems they are quite knowledgeble. I made a call to them and they straightaway understood what I meant by a 5Mbps cap and I still need to wait till tomorrow because they said "system down" whatever that means. Just be patient |
