Hi everyone..

I found that there is a "E" icon on my iphone..

I had disabled the 3G on my iphone..

Then the icon change from "3G" to "E"..

And i found that it drain battery quite fast..

Is it a normal issue to iphone?

E stands for EDGE

i thought all these while, E on iphone stands for Edge. If you are not using it, battery usage would remain the same as it shows 3G

E is EDGE, which cannot be disabled (unless jailbroken). Battery drains fast on 3G but not so fast on EDGE.

ok... But when i try use safari to online after i turned off the 3G and WiFi.. It works...

Means that it's charging me... Is there anyway i can disable the EDGE and use WiFi connection only?

cant turn off Edge. what you need to do is to stay in WiFi and ensure your icon doesnt turn into '3G' or 'E' or 'o'

You can only turn off EDGE (and GPRS, icon "O") for jailbroken phones.

i wish to turn off the E thing too. please teach us!

by using sbsetting or bossprefs on cydia..

Oh... If my phone not yet jailbreak?

Anyway to disable EDGE and only use WiFi for internet connection?

Will be charge if u explore the internet.. If not, no extra charge..

Added on November 30, 2009, 10:58 amu can try at Setting>General>Network>Enable EDGE/3G (must off)
