I'm from Belgium (EU), and I've also been waiting for this phone to arrive. I've called Nokia Benelux but they couldn't help me, then i sent an e-mail to Nokia United Kingdom.
There they told me this today:
"With regards to your email about the Nokia 1280 and which country this product is available. We have checked this and this is available in the Philippines, Middle East and Africa."

Anybody with more information about availability?

I think the Nokia 1280 is perfect, i love the simplicity and monochrome display. His looks are awesome. But the only thing i miss is Bluetooth, just to synchronise my contacts through computer, and to use with car speaker.
It would be awesome if a variant of the Nokia 1280 comes out with the Bluetooth function (but the same looks etc) (and maybe a MicroUSB connector for charging, since there was told that in future, every phone would have this for a power connector)

looks a lot like 1280 and has micro sd.
It would be nice that the phone has these options but not with colour screen. i want the monochrome screen like 1280! but with bluetooth...

no bluetooth that is the only function i'm missing

yeah that's pretty stupid of nokia! they say 1280 can play mp3 tones i think. but they havent memory card tray !!

i just removed back and front panel of the phone, so it is changeable... ?

you don't need screws to open the covers, right? i just removed it!
