I'm no longer worried about the later batches of forte being CKD. Really believe NAZA CKD means reassembling few part like doors etc .. like they do with Peugeot 308 THP. My bro's Pug has immaculate build quality throughout with engravements and labels in French .... except for the plastic thing around the inner door handle/knob which is loosely fitted.

Will wait for showroom model of 2.0 before decide. Hopefully improved insulation on door for more thumppphh on closing.

After watching the kia cadenza/ K7 commercial , think Peter Shreyer reserved his best design for it ... beautiful combination of sleek lines and curves. Forte mostly just simple elegant lines.

If cadenza comes in as 2.0 ..... bye bye camry/ accord .

After much consideration between an MPV (Livina or Eastar) and a c-segment, decided that it's wiser to get a car with full safety spec for my wife and 3 kids rather just the spaciousness of an MPV. Also need good hp for overtaking on the B-roads especially with full boot load.

So today i booked forte 2.0sx at PA motor.local dealer in kota bharu .. titanium silver or bronze whichever availlable first ... especially after rumours that price may go up soon and maybe 2nd batch still full CBU.

Ask the SA when can get ... he simply says donno. Appreciate his honesty .. rather than him cooking up a story that i can get in 2 weeks .. blablalabla. Then the SA showed me a newly arrived titanum silver 1.6 SX for a customer. Said the guy booked it 10 days ago after launching. Donno whether him telling the truth.


Unfortunately, the 2 showroom cars cannot testdrive.. maybe someone already booked. So just relied on expert car reviews on internet/youtube ... and worse still the biased venom from you guys.
I'm poisoned and left speechless.

Toyota VIOS is McDonald's 7.95 McValue meal. Honda CITY is KFC's dinnerplate. Both restaurants were too crowded coz brand ... brand ... brand.

So that day i ate the Coney Dog, Curly fries & Root Beer Float set at A&W. Sure it was slightly more expensive but damn it tasted goooood ... just like Kia FORTE.

With 600 bookings and rumoured 500 - 800 1st batch CBUs (half of which allocated for showrooms) ... looks like I'm gonna get the 2nd batch. Hpefully it's still CBU.

Unless la they start giving off the showrooms car ... which I kinda scared also coz might get the testdriven and accident-already units. NAZA .... honor the FORTE and your customers!!!!

Anyone can confidently answer this:

The waiting time stated by NAZA is 90-120 days. If we book now and NAZA increased the forte price after 2 months, will we eventually have to pay the new hiked price if our car arrived after 3-4 months?

If we will, i need to start pestering my SA every day for early delivery. IF not affected, I don't mind waiting even until march coz still got old car.

Thnx bro for the quick reply. Booked with local dealer coz no NAZA branch in town. Got a piece of simple receipt only. No computer key-in thingy. Hopefully I'm considered officially booking with NAZA ... will check with dealer again next week.

I own the previous vios model .. plan to sell it to bro in-law. Vios is a good car. .. but I feel buying the new vios or city is side-stepping. Getting Forte on the other-hand felt like up-grading .. from B to C segment .. from half specs to full ... but still side-stepping on price. it's too good to be true.

Just my 2cents ....

Is your's titanium silver or metal bronze? The two colours look so similar on websites .. but appear very different in brochure. I've seen the t.silver in real life . but not the bronze.

Scared that the bronze is more to my liking than t.silver ... I ended up booking both colours .. whichever unit available first. Thru my eyes, the T.silver even can even appear 'bronzy' under certain light conditon.

But if can get 1st batch CBU model .. don't care what colour also i'll take it. No paint also i'll take...

Emmmm .. wonder what happened to the 100 odd forte 2.0 supposedly sent to langkawi. I mean ... no one from langkawi posted in Kia facebook "hey .. today i got my 2.0" or "Wow .. today i testdrived the 2.0 at a local langkawi dealer.."

What actually happened to those units? Directly sold to langkawi's foreign expatriates? Kept at custom warehouse ?

I think what bikervodoo meant was fortes NVH is so good that the the low profile Kumho tyre normal noise sounded loud coz everything else is quiet.

Based on current forum discussion, I'm optimistic can get my forte at 119 days 23 hous 59 minutes 59 seconds from time of booking. They promised me within 120 days.

That so wondeeerrrrfuullllll !!!Waiting period now up to 6 months. Resettting countdown clock at home again. Optimistic getting forte at 179 days 59 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds from time of booking.

Keep raising the waiting period until new honda civic 2012 arrives so that i can change my mind ...

Ya lo. Tell that to NAZA .... this is probably gonna be my last sedan (after this children big already .. to go MPV).

Does changing the 17 inch rims to 16 inch ones void the warranty? If yes .. need to budget for quiet tyres like michelin primacy lc coz few saying there's the grong grong hollow tyre sound at the rear. I dunno coz never testdrive .. simply book only la. Did peter shreyer design the rims as well .. coz it's part of the forte TVC (the pop-out drawing TVC on youtube)

And is there a metal oil panel on sale to replace the plastic ones on forte? Even old vios' is metal like body panel. Or will replacing it also void warranty?

And also realize that black trim 'diffuser' under the rear bumper doesn't actually extend all the way inward. Kinda odd .. unlike suzuki SX4s ... perhaps dt some aerodynamic improvements.

See NAZA .. how pathetic I'm becoming. The actual car felt so distant and uncertain in my future that I'm distracting my forte-crazy mind with tyres and oil panels. Tomorrow I'll be shopping around for my car fragrance and car wax. Oh ya .. also will search e-bay for the cutest 'Baby on Board' car sticker.

NAZA .. the extroverts who wants their car quick will hassle your careline operator. Introverts like me will just keep quiet but go bananananana.

Yup ... appropriate enough the tagline for forte is 'leaving me speechLESS' and clueLESS. What to do .. still want the keyLESS entry, effortLESS cruise control, couldn't care LESS leather-seats and no LESS than 145-155 hp.

Hopefully can post again in LESS than the 120 days of my waiting period.
One thing for sure, forte's price then wouldn't be LESS than it is today.
