Dear all Forte Kakis, i have been following this thread everyday (from the old one to the new) since early October and this is the first time i posted cos just booked a 1.6SX Titanium Silver yesterday. If anyone of you from Penang would like to get the CBU unit in 2 weeks time, please go to Macalister Road Kia Sales Branch (next to Gee Heang biscuits shop). I have spoken to the Penang Branch Manager (Linda) and according to her can still get CBU unit if you pay 10% asap cos there are only 3 allocated units (including mine) at the moment for this branch. They need the 10% (not RM1k booking fee) in order to allocate a unit for you. The branch manager told me that i can get my car in 2 weeks time.

BTW, i did highlight to her that the 2yrs warranty is a bit short and she agrees and will be checking for me on monday to see if we can extend to 5yrs with an additional RM600-700 insurance coverage (this is what they did for Rondo, Spectra5, etc). The coverage for the extension is just like the first 2yrs, meaning whatever is covered under the initial 2yrs warranty will be extended to another 3 yrs. I will update you all once i hear from her on monday as we need to purchase the insurance upon car registration accordingly to her.

Hi guys/gals,

Really happy to see some of you got your car dy, supposed to get it this week, but it has delayed to next week sad.gif I went to the sales branch yesterday and i was told the following which i would like to check with you guys/gals:

1. I have to pay RM150 runner fees to get the car inspected cos of AP reasons. Did you guys pay or ask to pay this runner fees? If none paid or is asked to pay for this fee, I will not pay this additional fees cos it should be included in the OTR price and will call up the careline tmr to report this.

2. My SA told me that my allocated unit is at Sri Hatamas (is there a warehouse/place to keep new units?) and my SA needs to go there and drive down all the way to Penang for me. I told him to send using trailer but he gave me excuses and said impossible. Is this a normal practice? or am I getting a showroom unit or worse a test drive unit? Anyone been to the Sri Hatamas branch, it there a showroom or test drive unit in Titanium Silver colour (1.6 SX)?

I found this KIA wheel cap sticker (USD3.99 with free shipping, really a bargain) to replace/cover the NAZA wheel cap:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Julz, wondering what is the size of the NAZA wheel cap? 55mm? If it fits our Forte, then we all can get it and no need to group buy cos free shipping smile.gif

Hi Fortelover, yhlee & limeuu,

Thanks a lot for your reply, actually I got my PJL myself at JPJ and the RM150 is aside from the number plate or car registration fees, its what AP inspection fees. I will call the careline tomorrow since Fortelover doesn't pay for that too.

Actually i did request to use trailer instead of driving down from Sri Hatamas all the way to Penang (300+ KM gone) and willing to wait for the trailer, but my SA said there is no option for trailer. I think i will check with the careline too when i call tomorrow.

Hope that the rest from Penang do not experience this.

Anybody know where can fix the electric retractable side mirror feature?
*
I dont think we can find any here cos Forte is too new in Malaysia, but if you are from down south, you may go to Singapore to get it fixed. Most of the Singapore Forte owner got it from ManCanDo (price around SGD250) ... http://www.mancando.com/Products_car/forte.html ... Please bear in mind that they will drill a hole beside the ESC button to install the button to open/close the side mirrors.

BikerVoodoo, I read from the Singapore forum that even the dealer in Singapore pays ManCanDo to install the electronic retractable side mirrors, but dont know how true is that. But of course it may void the warranty if ManCanDo were to screw up the electronics.

bbear, dont give up ... Forte is a very good car and value for money, just that the SA at the Penang branches (both Macalister Road and Juru) are a bit lousy (my own experience too from both branches).

Can someone shares if the car's back seats are capable of ISOFIX mount ? Don't want to ask the SA since I doubt they knew what is it.
*
From what i saw, there is no isofix mount on 1.6SX.

BTW, for better before sales services, you may try the dealers and avoid the branches. No worries about the service center, I heard from a few Kia owners that the Sungai Pinang SC is good and recommended and it is managed by a Korean smile.gif

Just to share with you all, i called the careline yesterday to complain that my SA is going to drive my car all the way from Sir Hartamas to Penang Island and yesterday afternoon the careline called and told me that she will only be able to get back to me on today morning. Surprisingly, early this morning (9AM+) i got an update from the careline that my Forte will be sent by trailer next week smile.gif

How i wish that the services that the Sales Branch are providing are as good as the careline.

BTW, regarding the RM150 AP inspection fees, the careline will get back to me soon and i will update you all.

Please take note that your trade in price might be lower next year cos your car will be one year older as at 1-Jan-10.

guys, i need to know this too. i'm seriously clueless what's the problem with my car delivery.

i've settled my downpayment for nearly 2 weeks, and bought insurance since last week. JPJ number also i bought it myself, and yet my SA and the branch admin cannot tell me when i can get my car. to make things worse, they can't even tell me where it got stuck. one said it's sent for inspection, one said already inspected, pending for some document from custom.

i can't stand this nonsense anymore.  icon_question.gif

by the way, the SA is not answering my call now. call 10 times, probably answered once  vmad.gif

Please call the careline and file a complaint ... we have to teach these lousy SA a lesson!

LOL... that's why i'm not really bothered to call naza careline, cause they will tell u waiting period for the car is xx months (what, 2 - 4 months?). and now the car is launched less than a month ago.
Actually i am experiencing the same problem here. I booked and paid 10% on 28-Nov, got an unit allocated to me with engine and chasis number on the following week. i settled my loan (with LOU) on 4-Dec and made full down payment on 5-Dec and got my car registration number settled on 9-Dec and on 5-Dec my SA said that i should be able to get my car on the week after i settled my down payment, and then delayed to last week and told me he has to drive down my car all the way from Sri Hartamas to Penang ... I called careline on Monday and the careline is very helpful indeed and confirms that I will be getting my car next week (before xmas) and my car will be sent to Penang by trailer. As long as a unit has been allocated to you, i dont think they will ask you to wait for a few months and at least you SA will think "better dont play play with you" smile.gif

I was told by the branch manager that allocation can only be made after you have paid 10% and not the RM1k booking. Sigh, we have many stories here from different NAZA people. But from own experience, a unit was allocated to me two days after i made 10% payment.

Shamsul, I heard that PISA got a car detailing shop that do something like PPS, but not exactly PPS brand.

bbear, sure u can join us but dont know the price would be the same if you go for 407 cos 407 is a bigger car.

Just to follow-up on my earlier post regarding Wingard tinting. My friend has quoted me the following price for our group buy:

Minimum Car: 5

Feature: Block heat with security feature, two in one film. Smart Tag & GPS friendly.

Video on the Security feature: http://www.tintgallery.com/html/video/wingard.html

If you are from Penang or northern region (and dont mind coming all the way to mainland, Penang) and would like to get your car tinted with Wingard, please join me so that we all can enjoy the special price.

If you are interested, please list your name and location (easier to arrange for installation) below:

ZubinKhan, how's the performance of the tint on your dad's car?

ssek, how's the performance of the tint on your Forte?

Frankly, I have never used it before but my friends who use it recommended to me.

I have also posted the GB in Forte Malaysia forum to try and get as many cars as possible so that I have more bargaining power and push down the price further.

Those who are interested in the Wingard Royale GB, please PM me or add your name in the list.
