don't have the luxury to run down to jaben and find out for myself
perhaps someone can help out after getting their unit and run there to try out (assuming those pads can be taken out for testing) anyway, rm120 almost the price for a new unit of our superlux.. i doubt many would go for this option i personally would try to try it out first and then see how, maybe some DIY QUOTE(huh? @ Dec 17 2010, 10:33 PM) ive looked at jaben malaysia's product list.. and it seems that the dont have any velour pads for sale.. lots of beyer pads though.. ive asked E1-akg since he seems to be pushing akg products a lot in this forum since last year.. this is what i got some reading in headfi shows that beyer dt770 pads fits the k240 and in turn should fit the superlux headphones... jaben are selling those for rm120 per pair |

wah u own a dt880 as well?
still yet to listen to mine, prolly will listen bit and then let it burn in for few days and check time to time later QUOTE(huh? @ Dec 28 2010, 10:10 AM) got both of my 668b as well as 681... i prefer 668b better than the 681.. i find that 681 is too harsh to my liking.. both are burned in an clocked the same hours.. but as hitman said before.. the 681 headband are much more comfortable compared to 668b.. i think ill switch out the headbands so that i can enjoy my 668b better.. i think that the dt880 has enough bass punch for me though.. |

bro, ur here too hehe
thx for the recommendations again QUOTE(blegh @ Dec 28 2010, 10:09 PM) come come and try 668b vs 660 then let us know the outcome hehei don't have a 660 to test out.. hmm i also love bass arghhh 681! QUOTE(Doomsday @ Dec 29 2010, 01:09 AM) Tried out 681 and 660 today, can always come back to bro trio if you can't find and wait a while for the shipment to come in A snip review, 660 focus more on vocals rather than bass like 681. I tried on few songs that mainly focus on bass and I had to say that 681 give more punchy bass sound than 660. In short word, 660 sounds more clarity or maybe suit those who seek vocals sound than the music. 681 focus more on bass and the vocal are not crispy as 660 did. However, I would like to try out 668B that everyone has been crazy for or perhaps getting one for myself (*eyes-rolling*) Thats my 2 cent QUOTE(Delirium @ Dec 29 2010, 02:18 PM) Kinda hoping to just walk into a shop and buy it rather than waiting for a bulk hahaha. Thanks anyway. hmm if you can recable everything, maybe the sound would be much better?QUOTE(huh? @ Dec 29 2010, 02:34 PM) Blutack to hold the pads? Haha.. Socks is the most elegant way to mount the pads to the driver as it is elastic.. Recabled my 668b just now cause i accidently spoiled the inner wirings while i was taking a peek.. Neutrik plug with some leftover cables from my previous projects.. The factory cable is rather low in quality honestly.. burn in baby, i went to zzz while last nite after listening to my 668b, not sure if it was nice to hear or i was really tired already, maybe both.. |

wahh many modded already ah?
mine still letting it burn in, i think 668b needs a long time to burn in driving it with my sony a828 + fiio e3 with e3 louder but.. distorted.. sigh anyway, just with mp3 player enuf dy |

aint that sure so waiting rest to reply
so far with my fiio e3, it sux, only usable with those normal headphones/earphones i'd say for my 668B, it's not enough btw i tested with my creative SB Live! 24bit the other day, i find sound coming out from it's kinda flat too. I think I need to amp first before using it with my PC for yours, since it has a headphone amp, prolly will be better but still, without amping, i pair with my sony a828 is still good enough (can be better IMO with better amps, but not gonna spend too much here) QUOTE(Lurker @ Jan 7 2011, 03:34 PM) |

yeah agree with this, my 668B on gumstick is really really sweet now
You can't get the full potential of 668B unless you get an amp so far im good with just the gumstick cos it can drive it nicely.. QUOTE(i_djoel2000 @ Jan 21 2011, 01:25 PM) i'm not trying to promote my product or anything like that, but indeed amp has more than enough power to drive HD668B & 669 (i have tried both with indeed amp) if superlux headphones are not driven adequately, the bass will bloated and cut off. but if you can get sufficient power from the amp, the bass is actually pretty good. i even prefer HD668B + indeed amp to grado sr225i + indeed amp (yup, i have tried both) |

QUOTE(trio @ Jan 24 2011, 11:50 AM) You can try diy a low cost cmoy amp Yeah that's true, it depends on how well your mp3 player/source can drive it.I am currently looking around to bring in cheap and good amps for fellow superlux users! You could try with your zune and hear it out first but remember burn in and listen to the diff but bro, ur getting the 681 rite? that should be sufficient to drive in any source, the ones that needs better amping would be the 668B and others which has higher ohm/impedance 681 should be ok, cos it's rated at 32ohm which most mp3 players now come with this but maybe different for computer sound cards QUOTE(Hitman66 @ Jan 24 2011, 11:54 AM) |
