i think good for downloading & other general use...

if P1 can give lower ping can be really good for real-time apps & gaming...

really hope P1 can do something on this for us gamers (eventho i didn't have any problem when online gaming)...

as others who have bad service area, P1 should quickly upgrade the capacity of the BTS before losing new customers...

Another observation is that why some people (inc me) will encounter perfect quality during the first month than subsequently will slow down ... reason behind as i can see is because when new station is up (no subscribers), so of course fast! But as time past, more and more users subscribed under the same station (due to p1 agressiveness in sales) ... then it becomes slower ... it kinda make sense ... haha ... so rule of thumb ... wait 1-2 months after you first see the sales people asking you to subscriber ... then u will find the "actual" speed ...

The same will be faced by Digi Broadband, first question should be asked is how many subs they already have then will justify how how good is the speed ... if they only have <5k or so then it's possible it will still be running good, but when the number of subscribers under a station grows ... it will look like Maxis and Celcom ... Digi, Maxis and Celcom are using the same HSPA technology ... I do not see how Digi Broadband service can be any better as compared to Maxis and Celcom now ... it's physics, no escape for wireless broadband ... wait and see.

u know what, if P1 can give very good service based from our suggestion, then maybe streamyx & other bb provider rasa tak senang duduk hence start upgrading and give better service than they currently provide (I also found a lot of complaint from other threads regarding streamyx & other bb providers). kita semua sama-sama untung maaa....

i didn't get any pay for this. and i didn't say P1 giving very good service to me either. i have tried almost all internet service providers. they all have good and bad in different places and different situation u use them. this also include P1Wimax.

i'm saying this based on my experience. u can see that I've been LYN since 2004. i know that i'm not actively posting. i just to like keep quiet n having fun reading others posting in LYN b4 this. only now i just feel like to contribute more according to my general knowledge & skills/expertise. maybe i am right and maybe also i'm wrong.

but i've been in telco/IT industry way before I registered here in LYN. I have worked with 2 of P1 competitor b4 (u know, those that giving broadband AND telco service). 1 was and still who monopolised the industry. now i'm still working in telco/IT industry with vendor which providing telco infra & service (e.g. nokia, huawei, ericsson, alcatel, zte; i'm not gonna tell u which one). i have worked in both marketing & technical department, so in any way i know lebih kurang how the business like.

i have to admit sales & marketing will always trying to squeeze more money out of us. not just P1, but all ISP. the technical counterpart will always wanted their customer to get the best of what they have been providing/working on, at least that's how I strive in my work and feel towards the public in my working region when i was working as network roll-out pm before.

i really like to see very good positive building feedback/suggestion, rather than hate outburst/criticism anywhere in LYN. the latest would be the one from p4n6 and lin00b. i know that sometime we can get really mad and burst. me too sometimes. hopefully we can control that.

from me to P1, my speedtest maybe just showing that very very good download speed. this also maybe showing that there are no other user using the same BTS (or a very very small numbers). but what about the ping response time and also upload speed? that's not very good. i don't think sending u email would be good since this problem happen in almost all P1 network (if I'm not mistaken). only way u can rectify this is by sending your expert from technical department to sit down with your vendors which is alcatel & zte. and also tambah tower lah. your important users now are the new generations. they will need a connectivity which stable, fast & reliable. u cannot leave any one of this behind, all are equally important. god knows what they want to do with it but they need them and no compromise.

sori that i've kept quiet all these years...but my nature of work didn't not allow me much time for internet. only now that i'm on long holiday after 2 years long oversea project, i can have some free time. i also have to spend time with family.

and yeah, nowadays the 'non expertise people' are usually the people who run the company.

true and totally agree with u. but if u give positive feedbacks & building suggestions, maybe the responsible people in the company will lembut hati and respond to your feedback/suggestion. do u really think those ppl with power at top mgmt there will respond when seeing the hate outburst/criticism? Most of the time they will say "lantak korang lah. bukan company aku pun & bukannye ko mampu saman aku pun". u know la Bolehland. if only gomen, NGO and persatuan pengguna can be on our side, and helping us offensively towards the ISPs. then we'll see they tak berani main2 anymore.

i don't think our ISP capable of delivering this type service at the moment. the infra is too costly for the whole country. eventho some places already have the infra, for example TM HSBB, there many other aspects that they too chicken out to face, for example billing, O&M, support, customer service, sales & marketing. even at 2Mbps and below, the ISPs are already in deepsh*t with these other aspects and have to spend a lot and lot of money for them, not to mention building this type of infra. HSBB, can u guess where TM got money build this infra?

Yes. I agree with u that our BB industry is screw up but we must also be thankful because we still have them. There are a lot of other countries w/o this facility & most of them still on dial-up or satelit broadband. We can only depend to ourselves & future generations to create what we want for our future. Gomen & politics are all the same in any part of the world.
