Hi, I'm using the Wimax DV modem and I'm sharing my wifi with my roommate.
here's my problem:
Whenever he's connected to my wifi network, I'll be having super slow connection that I cant even load google properly. sometimes I cant even load a page T^T
Is there any other way I can limit his usage or at least makes my connection speed better than him?
I'm using the old presario C series while he has the CQ40 series laptop, I'm suspecting that his wifi receiver is much better than mine.
We're paying 60-40, Help me T^T" I might gonna kill someone for this seriously.

QUOTE(jananan @ May 19 2010, 08:03 PM) Added on May 19, 2010, 8:03 pmu can connect the P1 modem to an internet wifi router. then setup the P1 as the gateway of the Wifi router. choose a router than can configure a certain IP address as priority user. lock using MAC address so you always get same IP address. so you will have higher priority compared to your roommate. wifi router - around RM200-300 Uh, I don't plan on buying any wifi router. is there no other way? Oh, and even when I tried using the LAN cable and let him use the wifi. I still has low speed connection. Is it true that for DV230 the LAN connection is slower than the wifi? my other friend said so. or there's some configuration that need to be made? QUOTE(jananan @ May 19 2010, 08:10 PM) anyone care to share their DV 230 firmware version ? here: This post has been edited by Acher13: May 19 2010, 08:22 PM
