well since now the wii is hooked up to the 42" in the tv room, i'd like the picture to be a little sharper.

looking at newsfeeds for games (yes, I can do that and it's called WORK) it's a bit depressing that there are so few things to appeal to wii owners (except the hardcore ninty fans).

however i hate OPRAH. with a vengeance.

She doesn't do her homework, simply promotes all kinds of feel good stuff even when they're FALSE.

First case, the author James Frey's book -kononnya was about his real life, and she promoted the hell out of it. Turns out the writer faked the whole thing.

BIGGEST issue - the Secret. How can a book that implies starving africans DESERVE their fate because they "think negatively" be promoted like that?

Oprah is harmful, and evil.

People believe her. People trust her. When you are in that kind of position, what you say impacts a lot of lives.

That is responsibility. If she was just starting out as a TV personality, it's forgivable.

But not when she has been in the business for so long. Since people rely on her for what books to read, what food to eat etc it is HER responsibility to check her facts before supporting anything.

Unfortunately the SECRET is such a damaging product - I have met MANAGERs who insist that by thinking positively all your problems will disappear, and people who have problems are due to their own negative thinking. If that were the case, the Gaza residents are to be blamed for their problems with Israel, the Ethiopians are to be blamed for their starvation etc. I'm not kidding, that's how the law of attraction is supposed to work.

So yeah, if she was just a regular gal, I wouldn't give a crap. But because she has the potential to shape how people THINK, she better get her facts right.
