Nope I got the point absolutely correct. You guys are thinking of it from the point of view of the chasing car. Consider the driver of the car you're chasing for a sec. Consider how it feels to have people running inches behind you. Consider how many people in this city would chase after a car. Now consider that these Porsche and Ferrari drivers have a huge horsepower advantage, but the roads are chock full of motorcycles and slower cars and other dangers. Having that kind of pressure from aggressive road users isn't a nice feeling, and the the horsepower advantage is negated by the roads we have and the slower cars. What you end up with is a dangerous situation, especially with cases of accident/robberies and such. People with these cars have paid their dues; they've paid the excise and sales taxes, they've paid the road tax and insurance, and shouldn't really be subject to this kind of harassment for the sake of entertainment.
