QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 25 2009, 06:32 AM) cos only one i own has been 4H for awhile now. europa league man, europa leaguemousepad also that time got icemat so not interested cos i didnt like how it felt. and never interested in SS mouses until the kinzu and xai was announced, u know la my preference for mouses. tho i think the xai is going to have a nice fight to drag me away from my BSCE, until razer releases an updated CH and now the 7G, seeing as its the only mechanical easily available here + has multimedia keys makes it more interesting...and its the multimedia keys which won it over the filco. also razerguy already said they wont be releasing a mechanical kb, so too bad for him anyway, screw the damn yanks running LFC !@$%!$!@^@#@!$ the filco is great, but it also doesnt has the the super ugly but comfortable arm-rest of the 7g. correct me if im wrong, i think filco using cherry brown swicth, rather thn those non-tactile, non-clicky cherry black switch ryte? any 7g user would like 2 justify this ur so welcome |

QUOTE(SkYY @ Nov 27 2009, 10:24 PM) before deciding a keyboard, im curious over 7G. does it uses the cherry MX switch? since it didnt mention anywhere. and does it support n-key recognition? means it recognise every key no matter how many is pressed together? yes, it use the Cherry MX black, non-clicky n non-tactile.Switch Type: Cherry MX Black Key feel: Stiff and Linear Tactile feel: None Noise: Very Little Rollover: Full NKRO Key Delay: Untested Key travel: 2mm to actuation, 4mm to bottom This one is perfect for gaming. The Black Cherries help against accidental keypresses, it has full NKRO, and a PS/2 connection for near-instant response. It's added benefit is that because of it's smaller Left Shift key and addition of another key between it and 'Z', you get one more key that you can reach easily while gaming. QUOTE(FidelisGVR @ Nov 27 2009, 10:48 PM) Hmm.. I just thought of this... About the 7G, i'm thinking... It's like putting a V12 engine inside a Kancil. You get god-like power and performance, but it doesn't shout about it. Minimalist, if i may put it that way. I wish they put backlights in it... using backlights would make a mechanical keyboard even more expensive. there is only 1 mechanical keyboard in the world tat has backlighting, Deck KeyboardsThat said, i wonder why i don't see gaming keyboards having ergonomic form factor? A curved layout would be nice... http://www.deckkeyboards.com/ it cost like about rm700 maybe |

QUOTE(FidelisGVR @ Nov 27 2009, 11:01 PM) Oh, yes, i get your point... It's just that it looks so plain and all. I mean, it is expensive at it is, but i wish there would be more bells and whistles, you know... hmm, dun think so, no such egro "gaming" keyboard out thr, if u count out the armrest on the keyboard tat is. if ur talking bout keyboard, u mean like the Microsoft Curve keyboard? And i suppose there are no ergo gaming kb's out there, yes? btw, the armrest on the 7g is the most comfortable armrest among all the armrest on the keyboard ive ever tested |

QUOTE(FidelisGVR @ Nov 27 2009, 11:27 PM) Yeah, exactly! I had this kb before switching over to the Merc Stealth, and i loved it. Even without any armrest, it was a pleasant experience, both typing and gaming. It's just that it being wireless, so i did lose a couple of GRID races because of abrupt signal loss. Other than that, i was happy with it. so now ur not happy wif Merc Stealth? plannig 2 switch 2 a new keyboard? |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 27 2009, 11:36 PM) that one is the UK key layout...what we get here is the standard US layout everyone is familiar with. ur planning u start 2 use armrest nw everdying? well, most of those "gaming" keyboards out thr r all wif armrest, lagi2 the UNDETACHABLE one fom razer keyboards!i dont like using armrests, but its become a necessity to me so as to get a flatter feel to it. well, if got srewdriver thn probaly can remove those armrest fom razer keyboard, unlike 7g, jus carry n put, no srewdriver required |

QUOTE(FidelisGVR @ Nov 27 2009, 11:46 PM) Well, i won't go that far so as to say i'm not happy with my Merc Stealth... I simply love the dedicated gaming keys, and the interchangeable backlight color and intensity, plus the Z Engine. It's the switching from the ergo layout of the MS Curve to the straight one in the Merc Stealth that was kind of a bother to me. And the Merc Stealth has quite a high profile compared to MS Curve, so i'd prefer it to have come with an armrest instead. superior gaming performance, depend wut game u play, but 7g is one of the best out thr in term of a gaming keyboard expect no dedicated macro keys althrough they do hav the z-engine like merc does, so u still can use any key on the 7g 2 do macro stuffTyping with it is okay and all, but it just can't compare with the MS Curve in terms of long-usage comfort. just some xtra info on the Cherry Black MX switch on the 7g, the reason the Cherry Blacks are better for gaming is because they are a) stiffer than the others, so that you don't press keys accidentally, and b) have no tactile bump, which makes it easier to rapidly press a key over and over (like for dodging in Unreal Tournament). But besides the switch type, this keyboard is perfectly equipped for gaming with a native PS/2 controller and full NKRO. comfort wise, i do dig the armrest on 7g, but thn its personal preference, u gota try the keyboard urself at any shop or the pc fair itself thn u will noe/decide. cheers! Added on November 27, 2009, 11:55 pm QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 27 2009, 11:48 PM) the only reason why i use armrest on this is cos the 7G is high compared to the dktboard. well, fyi, the key on th 7g r quite stiff, stiff as in razer tarantula stiff key-ish feeling, not exactly same, but almost kind of the same stiff feeling. the dkt board r rubbery keys ryte?anyway, with razer keyboards...the armrest is the least of my worries...i just dont like the feel of the keys. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by selferino: Nov 27 2009, 11:55 PM |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 28 2009, 12:09 AM) first, if u want to rip-off a whole paragraph of someone else's review...at least put the source...dodging in UT eh... haha, i didnt rip off everythig, but the dodging part n spamming yes, but the rest i did try myself typing on SS, but i was like 15mins, not 1 hour usage, in fact the only mechanical keyboard i ever tried, so maybe tat why i feil it was stiff, not in a bad way stiff, just stif-fy secondly, for me the 7G keys are not stiff at all...i mean if it was really really stiff i wouldnt like to do lots of dodge jumps etc in UT. thirdly, with mechanical keyboards once u get used to it u dont need to bottom it out for it to detect...just a push of around 2mm and it detects already. thats why speed typists etc all like using them. and dktboard keys are not rubber, feels like rough textured plastic. owh yeah, the info on cherry mx black oso not fom me, i was a rip off |

QUOTE(H3LLKEEPER @ Nov 29 2009, 02:46 PM) true true cuz havent got Xai yet hey H3LLKEEPER, 4 u ikari consider light meh? 4 me its kindda on the heavy side or mouse coz diamondback n copperhead r much more ligher. i actually prefer the light weight of razer diammondback, sad thou ikari has the most confortable mouse shape i ever felt but their weight is a minus if u prefer light mice like me, but u still can get the use of the weight(well, so tat u dun feel regret getting one after paying high price 4 it tell me lar i can increase my experience on mices lighter than DA? sure lighter than mamba so i guessing its around the same weigh of the ikari edit : im talking bout ikari laser thou, not optical. QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 29 2009, 03:15 PM) ikari should weigh just slightly more than copperhead / xai...but not by much. yeah2 4get to edit, its the whole package weight, but it shud be around 200gram more or less i think, maybe..and technically mamba and deathadder should weigh almost the same. u want heavy? come try my boomslang CE 400g is not the weight of the mouse, some common sense pls? that one should be total packaging weight. |
