QUOTE(H3LLKEEPER @ Mar 11 2010, 07:12 PM) The mini is for my friend.. haha.. I personally using Qck Mass and Roccat Sense. QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Mar 11 2010, 08:48 PM) very very very good for a RM120 headset. Bang for the buck!Bass is stable and deep. Vocals and mid are rich, warm, and clear. The overall sound can be slightly trebly, but easily fixed with some tweaking of the equalizer. My only complaint is the lack of volume control. Other than that, pretty perfect. I giv it a 8/10. |

QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Mar 11 2010, 10:04 PM) QUOTE(FidelisGVR @ Mar 11 2010, 10:12 PM) Nice loot, hydrogen! Haha..Thanks.. Finally managed to add more Steelseries products to my gear collection. Do share with us about the 3H, esp. the sound quality in gaming and normal audio; and the comfort level.. Comfort The headset is adequately comfortable. Earpads well-cushioned. It fits nicely onto my small ears, but people with bigger ears may find it abit tight. However, even though the headset does press on your ears, it isn't uncomfortable because the headset is very light. It's very interesting that you tend to forget you're wearing a headset after you start watching a movie/playing a game. This is good for those who dislike heavy headsets. Also, because of the lightweight, you can move your head around freely without having the headphones shift about. Microphone I really like the retractable microphone. It disappears into the left ear cup. But..When extended, the mic is abit short. I was worried so I quickly tested it on Skype, and my friends say they can hear me clearly. phew.. Of course, I wouldn''t recommend it for any professional sound recording. lol Furthermore, with this convenient hiding place, I can use it as regular headphones on my mp3 player without a microphone sticking in my face. Design The color and design is pretty cool. Simple yet elegant and professional looking, which is what you have come to expect from steelseries range of products. The steelseries logo and words are found on the ear cups and also emblazoned on the top of headband. The 3H is designed for portability. The entire headset is foldable. When folded, it becomes tiny, and fits nicely into a small pouch/bag. It is very easy to transport. Performance Test 1, High quality Mp3: The bass is deep and solid. Vocals were warm and clear. As I mentioned earlier, the overall sound had a bit too much treble for my taste, so I tweaked my music equalizer to fix that. Music came out well, instruments sounded good. Test 2, movie: I tested Zombieland HD, and the dialogue came out bright and crisp. During the action scenes the sound got a little intense, but I'm pretty sure it was the movie quality rather than the headset. I think that at really high volumes the sound may become slightly distorted, but I don't think anyone wants to mess around with maximum volume on the 3H, unless they would like to damage their ears. Test 3, games: I played Mass Effect and Sudden Attack. I was able to tell where the sounds were coming from around me. Grenades, Footsteps, and Radio chatter were very good, direction-wise. I was also able to tell when people were walking in the vent in Warehouse to backstab. In Mass Effect, the gunshots and explosions sounded good. No distortion or static at all compared to my cheap cap ayam headsets in the past. And once again, the bass was good. From spaceship hums, laser beams to Krogan grunts. The depth of the sound helped in game immersion/environment. Summary I know that 3H is an old model, but its quality surprised me. I had expected only decent performance when I paid so little for it, but I got way more bang for my buck. It really impressed me! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for performance headphones but is limited by budget. At RM120-135, this headset is a total all-rounder. Comfort, Quality, and Portability. What a steal! PROS: Low Price! Convenient and portable. Good bass and clear, crisp sound. Cool elegant design. Good gaming performance. CONS: People with larger ears may find it tight. A bit trebly. No volume control. This post has been edited by hydrogen: Mar 11 2010, 11:00 PM |

QUOTE(AlexLai @ Mar 11 2010, 11:16 PM) yeah, there is abit of pressure. It will be quite tight for people with larger ears, or people with ears that stick out.For me it fits alright. The pressure isn't too bad, and it actually makes it feel snug. Also, the headset rests on the top of my head, so that takes off the pressure from the ears a little. But to be safe..if you have big ears, I say go for 4H instead. |

QUOTE(UserU @ Mar 13 2010, 04:36 PM) Does anyone know official(or non) retails that sells Steelseries products beside the one in Kepong? I'm looking for a shop that sells them somewhere around Subang Jaya. Is moderno near you? Moderno has a really wide range of branded gear. I bought my steelseries products from them. They sell most of the models available.*Sigh*... quality foreign gaming peripherals are so hard to be searched in local shops. This post has been edited by hydrogen: Mar 14 2010, 10:18 AM |

QUOTE(H3LLKEEPER @ Mar 14 2010, 11:32 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « i think the 3h is different from the the other H line headsets? I can say that the bass is pretty awesome. Can't believe such a small, portable headset can produce this kind of good quality bass. if you want, you can check out my 3H headset review. So far so good. It sounds great and I haven't even burned it properly yet. Expecting it to become even nicer. This post has been edited by hydrogen: Mar 14 2010, 11:49 AM |

QUOTE(H3LLKEEPER @ Mar 14 2010, 11:49 AM) yea i checked out your review It does fairly well for music. Not fantastic, but it's definitely impressive quality for its price. Clarity is there, and as mentioned many times before, the bass is superb.nice job dude cuz maybe a part of us here believed that H line headset from SteelSeries is not good for music. So whats ur opinion? However if you are an audiophile, and strive for top top top quality, i don't think the H series will be your taste. Of course, you must be willing to pay much more to get the 'special quality' that you want. No headset at RM120 will satisfy you. lol I'm still enjoying my music very much on my 3H. |

QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Mar 14 2010, 11:33 PM) sorry. i think the H series does not offer any good bass. hmm.. The bass sounds pretty solid to me. Like I said, not for audiophiles. But for regular user (mp3s and games), the bass is very satisfying.H series incudes 3h 4h and 5h. this is according to modernopc's boss. he said for customers who wanna purchase H series, he will have to explain to them that these headphones does not offer good bass and its only for gaming, not for other purposes. for other purposes, go for siberia or audio technica All my songs sound great to me, the average user. QUOTE(H3LLKEEPER @ May 6 2010, 08:43 PM) going for music portable but duno 3h leak out noise anot... planning using it on library and when walking sory my mistake not another set of xai, another set of xai feet QUOTE(AlexLai @ May 6 2010, 08:46 PM) nope, no noise leak, and no distortion of any sort. The sound quality is slightly higher from what you expect from RM120 headset.Gaming-wise, footstep positioning can hear very clearly. If you're going for portability, look no further. It folds into this tiny little thing that can be stuffed anywhere without taking any damage. But if you're going for comfort, you may want to reconsider. The 3H cannot be used for more than an hour, or your ears will hurt. The ear-cups are tight. PAINNNN This post has been edited by hydrogen: May 7 2010, 10:31 AM |
