- "I would recommend the Xai to any gamer at any level of gaming ability. Professional gamers are likely to admire the no-frills approach that SteelSeries have implemented, alongside the extensive and impressive configuration options. The Xai carries a very reasonable price tag and, at just a little over £55, is no more than your average gaming mouse so will appeal to casual gamers too."

My 2 cents:

Personally, I've been using Logitech mice since as far back as 2001. Starting from the Dual Optical til right about 2 weeks ago with the Logitech MX518. In that time I've tried many many many mice as well such as the Msoft 3.0, 1.1, Razer Boomslang, Krait, Habu etc.

I never really developed the penchant for using any other mouse and felt most comfortable when Logitech released their MX500 series many years ago, I liked the heavy feeling the mouse gives though this would really be more of a personal feel rather than the overall performance and ergonomics of the mouse is concerned.

Steelseries have really created a monster of a mouse in the Xai, it is quite possibly the best mouse I have ever used to date. Coupled together with the firmware it enables you to tweak just about every aspect of it and on top of that enables you to save your setting into the mouse itself (do not forget the download and install the driver). The overall look and feel of the mouse is kind of a 'back to basics' 'no bullshit' experience, no fancy lights, no unnecessary curves or pointless buttons.

I would recommend it couple together with a cloth pad (QcK or whatever suites your fancy) because the 9HD that it was supposedly made for didn't really feel quite right for me.

Unless something better comes out in the near future (which is quite unlikely), the Xai is really leaps and bounds ahead of any optical or laser mouse out there in the market right now. Although the price tag may seem a bit hefty but it is definitely justified. The mouse is just pure quality! GJ Steelseries
