i used old 13 years old ALPS Switch ACER keyboard. has been used to it,
but last year, i decided to preserved the unit and use membran keyboard. and membran keyboard died on 3 month usage with my typing skill of mechanical keyboard, not sure why. i brought 3 cheap membran keyboard and none of them survive my fingers LOL. i wonder why my ALPS switch keyboard survived that long, 13 years LMAO. Been saving money to get myself a better keyboard that should last me about atleast 5 years. i won't be changing any keyboard. but this keyboard, i'm really pleased with it. But not sure about other peoples because some people are not suited with mechanical switch because it needed more force on click and you can't play long, because your fingers tired in few hour of usage. that's how my friends says when they test run my keyboard because they wanted to buy Steelseries 7G. and they end up not buying it because fingers cannot tahan long time. if you feared that your finger gets tired quickly, you can try Blue Switch Cherry Filco Keyboard. They require less force to click but prepared to be a little bit noisy because they have clicky sound when you press it. But overall, i really pleased with this keyboard, i like the feel of pressing the button and N-Key Rollover really clear all my problems of key conflicting and stopping other key functions. You can try find a cheaper version of mechanical keyboard that is FILCO, but that's only available in singapore which is the closest place to malaysia that has a distribution. http://niceday.com.sg/filco.html Filco 104-Key Keyboard Majestouch Linear Force ANSI Layout with N-Key Rollover. this is the same as Steelseries 7G, the function it lacks is only media button and usb hub and a handrest. other things are included. Add pictures of my ACER 13 years hour ALPS keyboard. i pluck one ALT button to let you see the switch inside. this is a ALPS Switch keyboard. ![]() This post has been edited by Cyclonechuah: Feb 22 2010, 06:17 AM |

QUOTE(AlexLai @ Feb 22 2010, 09:58 AM) The 7G doesn't really need that much pressure to click either. Quite effortless like a normal membrane keyboard. yeah, hard to feel the difference, but it`s there. you can call a frequent laptop user to use the keyboard for a while, fingers will fatigue kinda fast.(not hardcore gamer) |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 22 2010, 11:21 PM) actually all current Filco kbs are called Majestouch. the compact one is known as tenkeyless, they also got the regular full sized ones. agreed, that's all i said on the last post.Filco obviously also got choices of black/brown/blue switches etc. tho what the Filco doesnt have that the 7G has are multimedia keys which i use quite often. laptop users are more suited for Blue Cherry switches. As reviews says Blue Cherry: Typing 10/10 Gaming 9/10 Black Cherry: Typing 5/10 Gaming 10/10.
