Need to know whether the Streamyx Combo promotion still exists (the waived activation and installation fees) 'cos this page is still up. It clearly says there the promotion ends on 31st December 2009, but I'm still hopeful somewhat because...

I SIGNED UP TWO WEEKS AGO, AND THEY ONLY CALLED ME AGAIN TODAY!

And guess what? Just yesterday I subscribed to P1 Wimax 'cos Streamyx made me wait too long. Seems like they're lagging it on purpose until after the promotion ends, so that I'll have to pay them the RM75 activation fee + RM88 installation fee after all! Not to mention all the other costs since I don't have a fixed phone line!

Regarding P1 Wimax, I am terminating it soon 'cos no matter how much Streamyx sucks, I can't bear P1 Wimax's connection instability (raining a bit also the speed went down) and the so called 20gb fair usage per month - that'll last me less than a week.

I went to tm last monday for the 4mb upgrade and until now it hasnt been done.Father called the technician today and dono wht crap problem they said they encountered and have to wait dono another 7 days or so.Blady hell man...if Im paying Rm130 for this month and most probably not getting half of the month of 4mb...i rather screw them den wait.

already activated my speed.called them juz now :wooooo:

for your 2MBps what's the sync speed to the dslam. i'm currently on 1MB but getting 1.5MB. not worth upgrading if just getting only 0.5MB extra liao.....

Technician will come . It dont call install . as they check ur line is supported for 4mb or not .If it does , they will change ur port to 4mb port .then upgrade ur cap to 4mb . Then u r 4mb user . If they check cant , they just tell u either stick to ur pakej now .

agree . but if u dont get it , u need to bring the form u signed at tm n show them u dint receive the modem , n u would like to have the modem as promise of the advertise .

i upgraded to 2mb , they dint come . they just change the port n wala . i'm a 2mb user .

The downstream u get is what u paid for . if u paid for 1mbps , its normal for u to get 120kb/s . its normal . 1mbps is 120kb/s .
they got capped at 2mb got few reason .capped mean that is his line . the server ..... that's what every 1 getting . unless they miscap u .its luck .


that is the port . maybe they upgraded the port which no more lower speed port . but if in system , u r capped at 512 ..... no point . u still get 512kbps .but u will get max . not 80% of it .

those r not so promising . i did call up the technician in charge , n say i cant get 80% of my speed on speed test . then he came n put me to 4mb port . i'm a 2mb subsriber anyway . tested , full speed at 2200kbps . woohooooo~ . tips , talk nicely to the abang ( tak aci lah bang )

there is no promising . depends some 3 days . some more . some even 2 week . cant predict the problem . just keep checking with tm supporting staff of the status .

guys, I am a little confuse with the packages here, mind helping me out?

I am currently a RM88 1mbps user (standard package), interested in upgrading to 2mbps

so I referred to the streamyx website and found out that there are 2 different deals

Super Deal 3 (combo user) and Super Deal 8 (Standard User)

by right I am eligible to subscribe for an upgrade under super deal 8 right?

but the deal doesn't include RM26 phone rental, so the calculation goes like this

current : RM88 + RM26 = RM114
coming 4 months : RM99 + RM26 = RM125
Following months: RM110 + RM26 = RM136

On the other hand, Super Deal 3 (inclusive of phone rental)

current : RM88 + RM26 = RM114
coming 4 months : RM110
Following months : RM120

So as you can see, a whopping RM16 difference a month!

Just want to confirm, Super Deal 3 waived phone rental?
If yes, can I (standard user) apply for combo user's Super Deal 3?

Yes u can . given u r streamyx subscriber for at least 1 year . u r the same as me . let me give u some piece of advice .

go to tm . i want upgrade to combo 2mb offer . likely they will say u cant .Insist u want . then u need to migrate from normal standard 1mb to combo 1mb . Then upgrade from combo 1mb to combo 2mb offer . likely no 4 month free for u already . next month , rm120 . keep to the term n condition n also the frequent ask question .

actually I did, saw a thread mentioning that he wanted to upgrade as well. (same situation)

and the T&C under term 7 stated that if we insist, we can but there's a twist here and there according to the thread starter.

then ended up he closed the thread.

with the unequal standardization from our beloved streamyx, a confirmation from fellow forumers wouldn't hurt hmm?
