I think it is depend on the person. I am sort of collector myself and till now I still regret I sold my PS1 in case to buy a PS2. (Currently bought a PS3 but retain my PS2...but my PS1 no longer here T__T) If you really think you won't play it and also think it is not worth to keep it then you can just sell it, other wise you might just keep it for collection and some off time leisure...
