QUOTE(Cobby @ Nov 22 2009, 03:02 PM) U can install straight, but recently i had problem updating my avira. it takes damn looooong time to update. i have no idea why. its been like a month im facing this prob. If you are using Avira AntiVir version 9 and are using Windows Vista / Windows 7, there is a problem with the way the antivirus program update itself.u guys have any prob in it? Apparently, the update module of the antivirus will try to establish a connection using IPv6 with a higher priority than IPv4. In Windows Vista / Windows 7, both of the internet protocol are enabled by default on the network adapter. Please open up the properties of the network adapter that you use to connect to the internet and untick the checkbox for IPv6. Avira should update itself right now. If you are on Windows XP, it might have IPv6 enabled depending on system's configuration. By default, IPv6 was not installed on Windows XP. Service Pack 2 onwards does include the support for this protocol. Follow the same procedure as above by opening up the network adapter properties and untick the checkbox for IPv6. IPv6 is the latest internet protocol that will replace IPv4 but not so soon. As most ISP currently support IPv4, IPv6 will be supported in the future depending on how fast the current address range for IPv4 runs out. |

* The command to add an address has the form of “add address [interface=]<string> [address=]<IPv6 Adress>” a. Example: add address interface="Local Area Connection 2" 2001:1945:feed:deef::1 |
