I got mine LCD tv last month, it was a Sharp 42A66M.
i feel like the image was overbright everytime on a bright image, example white colour.
i try not to tune so much of the brightness and contrast of the seting because loss of picture detail.
im now using a HDMI playing Xbox360, anyone has the same problem like me ?
any adjustment should i make ?

if not, i think i gonna call the technician come and check on it soon ....

'Brightness' is subjective. If you are comparing with plasmas, then LCDs are generally 'brighter', in fact, some people prefer LCDS due to its 'brightness'.

Have you tried toggling the default video settings that has lesser Contrast levels?

This issue is only occuring on your console? Other video source?

I don't have an xbox - but I do calibrate my screen using the Avia disc

perhaps some xBox user can download, follow instructions on how to use?

Sharp TVs have a function to adjust the backlight depending on your surrounding light levels. It is called OPC and the sensor is just next to your on/off LED light. Turn on OPC and the TV will adjust automatically.

42A66M is an old model from last year. You bought it at a sale?
